Re: Global shipping rejection

USA does restrict the import of some wooden items, mainly aimed at raw timber, but GSP are being over cautious.

Re: Global shipping rejection

Perhaps it would be an idea for eBay to put a link/search box, next to the GSP postage section, for sellers to check items that might be prohibited to send to some countries.

I think most people would assume an antique wooden box would be ok to send to the US via the GSP. I would also have assumed it would be returned to you, but looking at the GSP info page, such items are classed as 'undeliverable' and will be 'disposed of appropriately'... what a shame! ☹️

Re: Global shipping rejection

Yes they did refund me straight away,I think ,to me, the best thing is to
go through and take all wooden items off global,IT’s disappointment the
customer that hurts the most, I thank you for your clarification

Re: Global shipping rejection

What type of wood was it made from?  Many woods commonly used in antique furniture, e.g. rosewood, are are covered by the CITES regulations.

Some can be imported, but they have to be accompanied by all manner of certificates and permits.

Re: Global shipping rejection

I didn’t realise it was so complex, anyway spent an hour removing all
wooden items from global shipping, seems the safe way.
