Hi,
I've been using eBay for 24 years now and I have never had a 'Funds pending – awaiting delivery' show on any sale.
For some reason this has shown on three items I have sold over the past couple of days, when everything else I have sold over the past couple of months has been fine and payment has arrived as usual.
These are physical items, not digital, and I've been selling for 24 years, so why all of a sudden is this a thing?
thanks
Sam

I sold an item last Friday for a total of £46.95 including postage.
This item was then posted off to my buyer early yesterday morning by Royal Mail Special Delivery (private sellers take note)
It was delivered to my buyer earlier today.
EBAY HAVE NOW RELEASED MY MONEY INTO MY EBAY BALANCE AND IT IS NOW AVAILABLE.
So guys, if you want to get paid on the SAME DAY as delivery - USE ROYAL MAIL SPECIAL DELIVERY.
Conclusion;-
There was no having to wait 48 hours after a confirmed delivery when using Royal Mail Special Delivery.
Just following up from my last post as I ran out of time to edit it...
The money is now in my bank - It appeared there 1 minute after I withdrew it from my eBay balance so all good - I am now happy ! 🙂

I have actually sold something 😲
Posted this morning & although showing on RM website as dropped off, it's not showing as posted on Ebay's tracking page.
Ebay really should ensure their systems work if private sellers payments are going to held when they don't show delivered because their tracking isn't working.

The Ebay tracking has never worked where you copy and paste the long buyers details. Direct from RM will always be best

It also works for Royal Mail Tracked 24 and I should think the same would apply to 48.
That wasn't the case last week but it has changed this week. Last week only items that went to the Global Shipping Programme warehouse within the senders country had funds released on the date of delivery but this seems to have now changed to include all on delivery with that delivery service.

Same thing here, I have 100% feedback, most things I send are second class mail with no tracking as tracked would be too expensive for the buyer. Not happy about seller protection fee either, a buyer just asked to cancel a sale on a mobile phone I was selling because he didn't want you pay this fee.

I was not looking forward to managed payments but i can truthfully say that i have never had any problems with it at all.

careful, will be going into capitals and red soon!! Once someone gets a bee in their bonnet it stays there a long time and causes a lot of self inflicted grief.

Still with all honesty, It is nothing like PayPal's Instant Payments is it ?
It wasn't so bad when we were paid the same day we made a sale (just before 12am midnight on that day)... but now having to wait a while for payments is a huge comedown, especially when PayPal were spoiling us with their Instant Payments which felt so good after making a sale on eBay.

'If you send items untracked, how do they know it's been delivered?'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They don't.
Your money will be released after the full 14 days.

Bizarre, did they not bid £122.09 then?

Providing they don't get a notification as described or not delivered claim?

Get BlueMail for Android
There is sometimes a weird code thingy that eBay used to merge right in the middle of buyer's addresses, I think this was a tracking code for eBay perhaps ? Not sure if they are still doing this now...
Previously I always used to delete it because I thought it would cause some confusion and the postie might deliver it to the wrong house ! or something !

You'll get no arguments on the fund holding from me.
My previous reply to Lucy was just asking about the caveats eBay allow.
Of the 3 new systems, it's honestly the one that least bothers me. It's not right and their sales pitch for it is damn right insulting, but I can kind of understand it.
What I really don't like is Simple Delivery.

Typical capitalist tactic of holding onto money that they have no right to hold onto in thier efforts to gain millions of dollars in interest for the sake of their shareholders.
This stinks and is, for me, the 'last straw' in relation to this greedy company, meaning I will now withdraw the items I have for sale on this platform that had A huge monopoly on the worlds selling and buying public for decades!
DITCH E-BAY ! Cut off their practices of holding cash that doesn't belong to them !
