Failed simple delivery due to address query, next steps?

Hi! Since its easier to ask here than get hold of ebay, heres my question- so, i sold an item (not wort much, 4.50£), despatched with ebay simple delivery (Evri) on 18th September, so roughly 2 weeks ago. Checked during these two weeks that Evri has attempted to deliver 3 times but address is insufficient (not Evri fault, nor mine as a seller). It has been returned to me today. What do I do? Contact ebay? Refund buyer?, if so, do i refund what i earned, or i have to add postage fees (a bit unfair on both me, and Evri) and buyers protection fee?  I tried to contact buyer after Evris second unsuccessful delivery attempt over week ago and didnt had any response 👎

The buyer paid for the postage so you would be refunding item price only.   You can wait for the buyer to do a "not received" case on ebay if you like.

Not sure, but if it was sent via Simple Delivery eBay refund if it doesn't arrive, not you.

If they open a Not Received case, refer it to eBay stating it was a Simple Delivery.

This is about the only benefit of Simple Delivery to a seller!

Tracked items with attempted delivery count as 'delivered', so your job is done. You need do nothing more. As you say, it appears the Courier has done their job too.

That said, good sellers will often try to contact the Buyer. I give a courtesy refund of the Item Cost only, less any fees or postage. Unless the Buyer gives me a very good reason for the SNAFU, then I block them and won't let them repurchase after fixing any address errors.
