Sorry in advance, this is probably something that is talked about a lot.
So I'm a new seller trying to start my own business online, I plan to turn it into a business once I understand eBay fully and sell enough. I seem to be doing really well in my opinion but now I keep running into issues with Evri and I cant contact them at all, cant make a complain. I have even sent emails to the CEO & CCd my local MP threatening to go to a small claims courts but I still haven't heard anything back. Submitted to the BOT about 10 times and all it says is its been escalated. Can eBay help at all in terms of getting my money back if its lost or stolen. These 2 items that are currently still at the senders depot (me) since last Saturday and apparently it was due to 'Missing the connection to the driver' I just want my money back or to know if the item will even be delivered.
This is really of putting as a new seller and just adds so much stress and I'm lucky the buyers are really understanding and are being patient and still want there items and are willing to work with me and one of the buyers is actually now sort of become a mentor in this as he owns a business also (which is really appreciated) but I'm loosing money because of Evri's service. I have no idea what to do about this, I have done everything I can from my end. Anyone have any advice?
Thank you for taking the time to read,
Jamie.

Okay, so am I right in saying eBay will pay the refund and will cover it for me and I wont need to give back the money they paid for the item and this is included in the buyer protection fee? As I have already received the funds for the 2 items even though it isn't marked as delivered and still hasn't moved. Basically I really don't want to spend 8 months trying to get my money back for the items if lost
Thanks,
Jamie.

As a Private Seller using Simple Delivery you should not loose money if an item is not delivered to the Buyer.
The Seller keeps the money & eBay refund to the Buyer as they have paid Buyers fees.

I believe that is right with simple delivery - eBay should have you covered, but I have never used it.
When you move to a business account and pay shop fees or individual insertion fees, you will find that listing small parcel size VHS tapes for £3/£4 with free postage isn’t worth your time and isn’t cost effective. It is ok for building up some feedback to start with I suppose but I’d find another way to offload them such as doing job lots.

Hi collected-it, thanks for your post.
Just to add to the above, if you still have a private account and the item is lost or damaged in transit, you'd be covered if the item was sent with Simple Delivery, which is the system that generates the label for you. If you get the label on your own, then you'd need to put a claim through Packlink (if you got the label through eBay) or the courier directly if you got the label directly from the courier. If you click here, you can see more about Simple Delivery.
However, I noted that you said that you will be eventually upgrading to business. I just want to let you know in advance that the Simple Delivery program is currently not available for business sellers. This means that you would need to buy labels from the courier through eBay, of from the courier directly. In that case, when something happens you'd need to put your claims through them using Paclink (when the label is purchased through eBay), or from the courier directly if you bought it from them directly. For further information, you can see how seller protection works for business sellers here. 👍
Hope this helps,
Marco
