So ebay have decided to force private sellers to use simple delivery for all listings.
Previously you could select advanced options in postage and select your preferred postage method as before.
Did ebay announce this to private sellers - did they ....
I searched around a while and eventually got this from the chat bot:
"Eligible listings will show Simple Delivery as an option when you're creating a listing. Starting 15 April, 2025, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when listing eligible items."
The recent changes like BPF and simple delivery have been extremely irritating but not terminal. I think this is terminal for me.
I cannot express on this forum without getting deleted my extreme annoyance with ebay.

If you're selling something for 99p then even a small extra fee is unacceptable.

do you suggest, just so I’m clear, that it should be possible to sell products, with a payment being processed, for no cost to the service provider?

Fully agree. New policy to force Simple Delivery is extremely annoying and makes it uneconomical to send items with less then 750g (RM large letter).

@xyz307xyz Hi, I saw that, and agree that that works for Evri, but if you select Evri only, how can you be sure that your customer will not select to use an Evri locker and it would not go in the locker.
We need an Evri expert... anyone used it more than once?
@jonatjonatjonat That sounds fab. What the heck is a Tik Tok shop.....? I avoid TT. I assumed they only allowed Millennials to have access.

I've not seen any option for a buyer to choose a locker for delivery.
If it is possible to redirect it on Evri's website from the ebay address to a locker, that's their and Evri's issue. (I don't know if that is possible.)

Hi @xyz307xyz It's on your link!

That's drop off i.e. where the seller puts it. Not where it's delivered.

Fair enough!

All I'm saying is that I want to be able to choose and pay for my own postage. I don't want eBay to do this for me at some rip-off price.

Been ebaying since 2004(?) im done as of today.
1. when buying yodel dont deliver to my address they deliver to random places, i dont know where i dont get the item and ebay side with yodel. yodel are uselss i h@te them and ebay should not allow them.
2. been forced today to use ebay simple delivery on 3 items. money extracted from my ebay balance. did not work at post office was forced to pay postage to get items sent. the QR code was the "wrong type"
i know that post office well, they know me well. ive been sucessfully using royal mail signed for or recorded for 20 years. if anybody from ebay is reading this I AM DONE. you people dont care about anything except profit.
lets tell you people at ebay something you maybe understand this seller typing this is DOWN massively in money terms for the three items ive just posted.
ive lost money - you do understand that don't you??
i have lost money. never selling again. will only buy again if i cannot get the items on any other platforms. give me my money back that you extracted today - you could start with that. but you wont will you? im done but in future for sellers that you still have, give them an easy option of reading the F ing address of the buyer, so they can use that. i h@te ebay. 20 years done gone

The buyers address is on the “print delivery note “ option. I used that to
send as large letter price, but eBay took the buyers postage anyway and
didn’t pass it on to me so I ended up paying for it twice.
I did that as well, I contacted ebay explained what happened and they refunded the postage.
Dastardlyman
I had the same there as well, my daughter who used to work at the post office took a package to 2 different post offices and neither could read the QR code. She managed to print a label for me, I paid 30p for a collection and the bar code on the printed label was accepted.
So what is the point of a QR code that does not work!

2. You can try to get a refund for the unused labels here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/claims/simple-delivery/refund/seller
Out of interest what are the first two characters of the code under the QR codes which didn't work? (Possibly Y then something)
