Ebay seller offers & promotions 80% off fees etc. NO LONGER OFFERED? WHY?
About 12 months ago I would regulary get offers from Ebay as a seller such as 70% all seller fees or 80% of all seller fees usally over a weekend.
Suddenly the offers stopped? Although all my other friends continued to receive the discounted fee offers every 2 or 3 weeks? A friend similar to myself has recently recieved a 100% no seller fee offer valid until 15th April. But despite being a loyal Ebay user since 1998 I havnt had one discount seller offer for over year.
Anyone got any idea why this has happened to my account? I have even spoken to Ebay on the phone who dont seem to have an answer. ... Anyone?

You are not alone. It was called the February club but now the anniversary is past. Many sellers saw the offers cease Feb 2023. Despite many chats and calls to CS ebayers have had no explanation other than offers are given in random batches and 'you will get one soon'. Over a year is not soon nor random. To add insult to injury those getting offers had free listings of any amount up to 15 April. There is now an offer to sell clothes for free luckily appearing on all accounts, obviously to challenge Vinted. I prefer ebays reputation!

The promotional offers are offered completely randomly, and eBay do not reveal to whom and why some do receive these regularly and some don't. Some have not received these for years.
The only criteria they do reveal is that an account has to be Above Standard for selling, showing a regular / constant selling of items .
One tip I can give, never rely on an email message for these promotions , they are not always sent, always check your Promotional Offer section regularly for them. If you are invited it will be there.
Some today have received a Free Selling on pre owned clothes, check your homepage for this.

As a buyer I find sellers sometimes offer me discounts or vouchers or include free stuff with an item, and sometimes they don’t. I don’t expect it, and I don’t feel entitled to a constant stream of discounts and freebies. There’s no particular pattern to this: I just assume they have their own theories as to how this promotes their goods.
I guess eBay’s various ways of promoting their services works in much the same way.

If it's any consolation from today there's no fvf fees on what eBay call pre-owned clothing for private sellers.
However today is also the day the extra 0.35% regulatory operating fee comes in.

Yes that would coincide almost excactly to the date all my offers ceased February 2023!
Annoyingly a friend & also a regular seller was offered & he used the entirely FREE selling zero fees you mention.

They want you to become a business seller? I'm just selling downsizing what's in my home. I've refused an offer to lend money to build a business by e-bay? Now the 80% off promotion has ended
Now for 80% off you have to have a business?
I've seen for myself the Business e-buyers get looked after by scrutinising what your selling....then buy your item and get e-bay money back guarantee and keep your sold item??
It's a business for them and if you scroll down from this link.... I clicked on for promotions and was told you have to change to become a business?

The customer service team waffle on about the offers being machine allocated and random but it is isnt random the 80% off FVF has stopped. When I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told that long standing customers get less offers ie loyalty is penalised! The longer and more business you give them the more they make you pay. When I pointed out that I would rather pay ebay via promotional fees and international transaction fees rather than FVF and this offer system used to give me that choice and without it we all lose out - they had nothing to say. It seems they want to ruin what was a good and valuable website. They want you to go elsewhere.

Thats not right as i am a long standing member and used to get the 80% off promotion every two weeks for years.
Ebay CS seem to have a new script 😞

Well ebay customer services is being inconsistent and very opaque.
I believe the logic behind the 80% off FVF is to manage the volume of listings. Given how important this fee structure is therefore to both ebay and to us as sellers you think an honest and open system would be deployed.
It should be possible to ask whey the offers stopped when ratings are high as are the fees paid and get a logical clear answer.
If the allocation is random by machine - its an incompetent machine. If it is that loyalty is penalised then EBAY is commercially foolish. Customer service are useless. None of this reflects well on ebay which is a great pity because everything else works well.

YEY !! No more fees for us private sellers - at last !! (Germany's PS have had this luxury for awhile now.
The only thing that may end up ruining it for us GENUINE Private Sellers is the businesses pretending to be private sellers.
I have come accross more than one so called private seller recently that have 12 or more copies of a cetain 4K film for sale - these people are fraudulent pretending to be PS when obviously they are not.

But as soon as they let us sell for free. They have introduced costly mandatory buyers protection. So when I listed an item I wanted £25 for. It appears to buyers as £26.72. Really fed up with them.
