Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

I'm a private seller. Items I sell are between £2.90 - £10. Is It just me or will ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb make it near impossible to sell competitively. A few months ago Ebay got rid of Sellers' fees for private sellers, which was a welcome move. But this new change and getting rid of multi-buy discount for private sellers will make it worse than it was with the original fees.

Your opening comment on the post in question (and i am not counting where you reiterated at the beginning a question some other poster had raised) was 'Did you know that some e bay staff also have e bay accounts?  That is you stating a fact by asking if the poster knew that information.  I commented in the vein that you could not know that for certain, although it was more than likely.

Just to clear up any misunderstandings regarding ebay employees using the forum or buying and selling on ebay here is the policy

No, it isn't stating a fact. Do you see the question mark at the end of that sentence? That means it is a question.

Re: Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

You could simply have asked me if I know that for a fact or not. Then I would have told you that I have spoken to a number of people on eBay's customer service who are quite open about having their own buyer or seller accounts on here. There's nothing wrong with that. But they could also come onto the forums and we would be none the wiser if they were staff or not. That's why the entirety of what I said was "Did you know that some eBay staff also have eBay accounts? So some people you think are just ordinary members of the public might also be eBay staff. There's no way of knowing who though".

There's absolutely nothing wrong with what I said.

Read the policy - an ebay employee can use the forum but must declare that they are an employee and that any opinion is personal and is not ebay's  - official employees on the forum are in a different format and  are highlighted.

It's all in black and white see link in previous post - no employee will 'go undercover and voice opinions without following policy unless they want to join the unemployment statistics - ebay are very strict on this policy

Re: Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

A more grammatically clear and correct question would have been:

"Does anyone know whether any ebay staff also have ebay accounts?"

The way you have put it looks like a statement with a superfluous ? at the end.  Reading the whole sentence in context it is less a question than a statement.

At its very highest it might be a question as to whether a third party knows that some ebay staff also have ebay accounts, as in they have them but do you (the third party) ' know they do.

Yes ebay have policies on just about everything - finding them is the problem sometimes -  this one is fiercely imposed on it's employees

Whether statement, question or just words on a page - what's it , in any way, to do with the new Buyers' Protection Fee - the subject of the thread.

Usually when it comes to this point, a thread is closed - which, I think, would be a pity.
