Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

I'm a private seller. Items I sell are between £2.90 - £10. Is It just me or will ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb make it near impossible to sell competitively. A few months ago Ebay got rid of Sellers' fees for private sellers, which was a welcome move. But this new change and getting rid of multi-buy discount for private sellers will make it worse than it was with the original fees.

It states the new simple postal system wont be added to items that are already listed, but will be optional on new listings. What I can't find an answer to is what happens on auctions when they auto relist. Will they then changed it to the simple postage option. If so how do the know what size and weight the item will be?

They get the fee

I am - been on it this morning - going to give it a go but postage costs probably kill it

If you opted out you going to have to check everyone because they may auto tick the box for inclusion, but as the thread was on about the buyer fee i assumed you were asking about that my bad.

Re: Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

My understanding is the only way you can opt out is by ticking/unticking a box when you list a new auction. I want to know what happens when they auto relist the auctions I already have running. I assume I will have to cancel every relist and amend the postage option.

I really don't know in one place it says that only new listings will be
affected and somewhere else the others will. Like i've done and now
cancelled today i will do time away to check them. They backtracked on the
buyer's fee for now but it's all so last minute and might be the same with
SD

Where have they back tracked on the buyer fee please?

Ebay are acting like trump at the moment buyer fee, and at the very last hour but not on everything, in the last minuet only on electricals, one second to go for now.

Trump tariffs, last hour not just yet we are in that last hour on tariffs .

No, apparent in electronics only, but people monitoring are disputing this. I think they are wondering what to do! **** 'em.

What has? The electronics "phase in" or the whole lot? Why don't eBay have the guts to let us know?

Re: Ebay's new Buyers' protection fee from the 4th Feb

Because they know they've messed up big time and are scrambling now to avoid total disaster - private sellers leaving in droves, buyers not informed about the BPF and royally p**** off, falling share prices, all caused by eBay's greed.

Yes me too.
I retired and have lost lots of weight so wading my way through suitcases, wardrobes and drawers full of clothes I no longer need or can wear - all great condition but looks like I'll have to sell on Vinted now.

Where have you got that from?

If you don't know it for a fact please don't post it.
