Hello sellers.
I just noticed 2 feedbacks which I ge them from EBAY on 2 orders. Is it that a new feature?
Is Ebay giving you feedback after the order it has been delivered?
The feedback says that ,, This seller successfully completed an order''
Apparently there is no any buyer name,is just Ebay Automated Feddback .
I will atach an photo for more vsibility. Thanks

Yes, it is a new system designed to assist new sellers to build up feedback. It doesn't apply to established sellers.
If a buyer subsequently leaves actual feedback then the automated feedback is removed.

A seller I purchased from has got 7 out of 7 positive automated feedbacks. The feedback for my purchase was there before I even received the item. I have just spent over 30 mins with an agent who has explained that it is a new system for new sellers to gain trust from buyers. In my opinion this is just a mockery of the feedback system and as a seller I had to gain honest trust from my buyers like many others. Also when you check feedback most relevany comes up first which is the best feedback comments they have received. All in all feedback is now nonsence and means very little.

You can still leave your own feedback. The automated feedback is then removed.
Most relevant feedback isn't necessarily the best comments received, it can be negative comments as well.

Hi ive sold 5 things and im a new seller and its been 7 days since they got the item do you know when I will get the automated feedback please

It should appear 7 days after the estimated date of delivery if the buyer doesn't leave their own feedback.
Automated feedback is positive feedback which is automatically added to successfully completed transactions in the following circumstances:
We add automated feedback to provide more information to other eBay users and help them buy and sell with confidence.
Automated feedback from eBay will remain visible unless your experience was less than positive, for example you opened a return request, you didn't receive the item, or the order was cancelled.
You can still leave your own feedback about your experience which will replace any automated feedback already left.

I think it's a very good idea and one thing that ebay has done that will help new sellers, particularly private sellers who start selling unwanted possessions which might not be in great demand. Many will come up against the problem of slow sales combined with fewer buyers leaving FB so they appear to be a poorer seller than they are in reality, because time moves on but their FB number does not grow as quickly as it should.
Looking at your Community Profile it says "Since 2010", I'm not sure if that is when you joined ebay or when you first left a comment on the boards, but in either case you I'm sure you remember that back then many more buyers would leave FB. I started selling in 2013 and would guess that 9 out 10 of my buyers left me FB, back then and it didn't take very long to build-up "honest trust" by getting Positive FB. It's not like that today.
You mention that "The FB was there even before I received the item". IMO another good thing in that you noticed it while the purchase was still fresh in your mind so you could have left your own FB if you didn't think the automated version said enough or needed correcting. (Did you leave your own FB?) IMO better to do that than wait a week or two and then add automated FB after your involvement with the transaction was finished so it would be done "behind your back".
I don't know if etsy still has its "Transaction Counter" but I made my first purchase there from a seller with a handful of Reviews on the strength of their Transaction score of over 40, which gave me the confidence to buy an expensive item from a seller who was apparently a novice, but in reality could be trusted to get fragile glass items to buyers in one piece.
I also sell on ebid which doesn't do automated FB or have a Transaction Counter so some sellers there suffer the consequences. It's quite well known for selling stamps and postcards, which are cheap and sell quickly so those seller's FB grows giving buyers confidence to buy more. Others are blighted by slow sales and that buyers won't leave FB and although they've been selling for years and made numerous sales, they still appear to be beginners and untrustworthy.
It doesn't often happen but I'll give ebay credit where it's due IMO, a round of applause, Kudos and even a "Helpful" to ebay for pushing the FB ladder back down to let new sellers get on the bottom rungs when some sellers would pull it up after they've benefitted from better days and more co-operative buyers.

I fully agree.
When I started on here 20+ years ago, you had to earn 10+ve feedbacks before you were allowed to sell. Back then it was very rare not to give and receive feedback for virtually every transaction.
Fast forward to today. I still always leave buyers and sellers feedback on both my private and business accounts, however I get less than 20% left it in return.
How are new sellers meant to build trust? Especially businesses.
I did suggest eBay consider doing this years ago when feedback tailed off. What would also be good though is automated Negative feedback for buyers that don’t pay after having ruined your auction…!
Something simple like “unfortunately the buyer failed to complete this transaction.”
Non-malicious, but a visible warning to others, although I’m sure having received one they’d just open another account 🤷🏽♂️

I have had a selling account since 2004. I agree that buyers don't leave feedback as often as they used to but there is a reason for this. I don't leave feedback for sellers or buyers as often as I used to, the reason being is the current feedback is a complete mockery.

I queried this 9.10.24 Community Chat & this was Marco's reply:
"They are automatically generated based on the factors of the transaction, but that could also happen when feedback is manually left. Sometimes sellers would leave positive feedback for buyers, but then for a different number of reasons, the transaction might be cancelled or refunded depending on the circumstances."
So IMO is does not mean that the transaction went well, just that it happened. I initially queried it as the seller I purchased from had been left this Feedback & the purchase went pear-shaped. Just this past week I've also had problems with two further sellers showing this feedback so I'm now avoiding sellers with it in their Feedback.

I agree, i think it is a terrible idea. If you are a buyer and you look at someone having this amount of good feedback then you maybe being lulled into a sense of false security. Just because the seller posted an item does not mean it was a successful transaction, a lot of buyers may not have had a positive experience but just shrug it off because it was to them not worth the effort of returning the item or for other reasons (may not even think about feedback). As a buyer I usually give feedback because i am normally happy with the experience, i have given the odd neutral but so far never a negative. If e bay want to interfere with the feedback system (which is dubious anyway) why do they not leave a neutral and let everyone know that it is from e bay and not the actual buyer? Now i am not only going to be checking feedback before i buy i will be checking for e bays false feedback.

I am a seller and have opened a new shop for books, etc. I recently dispatched an item to a buyer (which also happens to be new account), and they have yet to receive it. I logged into my eBay account today to monitor the package. As I was about to leave feedback for the buyer, I noticed that I had already 'left one.' It doesn't sound like me, if that makes sense as I like to add personal touch to my feedbacks. Is that eBay's automated feedback system doing this?
21-12-2024 6:31 AM
Yes, it sounds like it, but as we understand, you can still leave your personal feedback which will remove that automated feedback.

I had it on my new private account, about a after delivery I got an automated feedback from eBay, then a few days later it was replace with a positive feedback from the buyer

Yes, this is typical eBay stupidity and simply means that there is no real discipline in eBay feedback. It's the same with levelling everyone's feedback each year to a clear record. On my business account (newsgood2) I have 1444 100% record over 22 years, which means something, but as they level it every 12 months everyone can look good on eBay. Greed for money over reality has always been Ebay's policy, rather like social media where it is simply a monetised platform pretending to be about communication.
