Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

Hi everyone,

My question is that Ebay deleted my 1200 listings a year ago and my account has just come back to above standard. I called Ebay agent to recover my 1200 deleted listings (items) but Ebay agent knows nothing and tells me to list each item again but it will take my 5, 6 month , has anyone got any idea how to recover my deleted items (1200 item) ? Thanks

As far as I know there's no way of recovering them. Sorry.

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

Do you think it may be because you are trading on a private account and also listing the same multiple items? For example, model number EAX67865201.

Not really private listings selling your own unwanted items is it and taking advantage of no selling fees?

I quote from one of your listings 'I have removed from a tv that has never been used but screen cracked in the store”'

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

Yes i am a solo trader and a private seller, my mistake was not to know
ebay rules much and ebay punished my by deleting my listings. Then i
learned how to trade on ebay but it cost me 1200 of my items’ deletion

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

If you are trading then you need a business account as you are not a private seller.

My question is not to be a business seller or a private seller,

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

My point is that you are trading on a private account.

There are legitimate businesses selling the same items as you, if you have a look. What chance have they got of selling their items when you are selling yours with no fees and undercutting them?

Absolutely no sympathy for you as you don't to others.

I am also paying a listing fee and customers trust the business sellers
more, not me

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

You think businesses don't pay fees? A lot more than 36p per item.

It's not just about trust either when you sell. It's about abiding by Consumer Laws, which you are not complying to.

Why was your account below standard?

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

You do not seem to accept that you are trading illegally as a private seller, when you clearly are not. In January Ebay will be providing details of your activity to HMRC, I am sure they will be interested in your activities. I also assume that while masquerading as a private seller, you are unaware that you will be limited to 300 free listings per month, any more you will be charged 35p each.

Re: Ebay deleted my 1200 items.

First, to answer your question there isn't a way to retrieve those old listings, the eBay CS agent is correct in that you will need to start them from scratch.

Secondly, just a heads up because you may be heading for grief with HMRC as you appear to be unaware that you should be trading on an eBay business account.

A private seller is one who is just selling off their own personal items such as clothes from their wardrobe, bits from their loft/garage etc.

A Business seller is someone who buys or makes items to sell on.  They need to be registered as a business to meet the requirements of UK law. They need to declare income to HMRC once they reach £1,000 worth of sales (eBay will be providing HMRC with your details anyway so it's vital to keep correct accounts for your tax return). You can obviously offset more expenses as a business seller, but can't offset any at all as a private one.

To correctly register as a business seller simply go to your Personal Information in your account and to the right of Account Type, which will be showing as 'Individual'  you'll see an Edit option.

https://accountsettings.ebay.co.uk/profile

This doesn't affect your feedback profile or any current listings, it merely upgrades your account so that you're compliant with current consumer and eBay policy.

If you're also selling your own items, just open another eBay account (you can have more than one).
