Today we will drive a 4 mile round trip to post an ebay sale value £5. A special trip that cannot be combined with any other missions and all because Simple Delivery inflicts a 3 working day window for shipping. We do not all live within walking distance of a Post Office or one open every day. To add insult to injury the pre-paid label boasts 'Royal Mail: UK's lowest average parcel carbon footprint 200g CO2e' that EXCLUDES the special trip to the PO to satisfy ebay. As we know ebay care not about private sellers and have zero idea about rural living. 'Simple Delivery, selling for 'free' and destroying the planet'

One option might be to book a RM collection at a cost of 30p.
I don't know if they are available for all areas or not.

how do you book a collection with Simple Delivery? Would it really kill ebay to allow sellers a bit more leeway? not like its coming from China over 4 weeks...

Some people have reported there is an option on ebay to book a collection alongside the label. Others say don't have that option currently.
Otherwise on the royalmail website https://send.royalmail.com/collect/youritems
The items have to be Royal Mail not Evri.

The Book Collection button showed up when I downloaded a Simple Delivery label last night. It was over on the right-hand side towards the top. I wasn't charged 30p either.
You can also leave the parcel in a 'Safe Place' if you're not going to be in.

I agree, certainly not top of the agenda!
The extra packaging supplies, time and effort added throughout the whole process for everyone because there is no option to combine orders is ridiculous.
All about the ££.

It's abhorrent that £bay are deliberately inflicting varying levels of postage inconvenience.
Their greed has stepped over the boundary and is both impolite and unreasonable.
If they were a visitor to your home then you would be relieved when they left.
They will soon have the most profitable business model that people stop using.
For private sellers the policies need to reasonably fit their lifestyle as it's not their job.
The main reason this website is interesting is because of private sellers items.
Else it would just be a second rate Amazon, Temu or AliExpress so might as well close early.

Totally agree...it's like ebay has had a blow to the head and doesn't have a clue where it is or what it's doing.
The "people" running it are obviously very awkward, obstinate, hate private sellers and are just a tad thick.
