Recently placed an ad to sell my German Naval Clock. The dial has a 3mm Swastika which I covered with the Clock hands (see image). My ad was immediately removed by Ebay, saying it contravened their Offensive Material Policy by displaying a Swastika.OK then.I have just searched "Nazi" on Ebay UK and there are 89,000+ adverts shown. On the first page alone of 60 ads,I counted 37 Swastikas illustrated on coins, stamps, literature etc.etc.I haven,t checked the remaining 88940+ but would suggest there are many more infringements. Is a clock, less or more offensive than German currency which funded their war in the first place. Also, should not our younger generations be made aware of this terrible war, rather than trying to hide it from them with these ill-thought out prohibitions. It should be all or nothing if Ebay wish to enforce this Nazi Emblem Prohibition.

"On the first page alone of 60 ads,I counted 37 Swastikas illustrated on coins, stamps, literature etc.etc.I haven,t checked the remaining 88940+ but would suggest there are many more infringements." - I guess you didn't read eBay's Offensive Materials Policy then; nor my posts 12 and 17.
To reiterate:
The following items may be listed:
Your item is a physical object produced after 1933 which identifies it to the Nazi regime. Such objects attract a certain section of society who regard the ownership of such an object as a status symbol. eBay have obviously set their policy so as not to encourage such people to the platform. That is their prerogative.
Your item is not illegal in itself (in this country anyway) and as I suggested previously you would be better placing it in an auction house sale with online bidding (which most have these days) and who run regular militaria sales. Good luck.

There really isn't any point in wasting time and energy railing against ebay's often arbitrary decisions on prohibited items. They don't take any notice of appeals or objections.

They changed their payment to sellers rules because they listened to Ebayers. They knew that sellers were upset having to wait for up to 14 days or more for payments and lost many loyal Ebayers because of this.If nobody complains,eBay think everyone agrees with their policies. Not me.
