So if I sell a vinyl record to someone for £4 it will cost the buyer £4.85? What is this nonsense? It won't be worth selling small items after Feb 4th. EBay are going to lose 1000s of sellers and buyers.

Thanks m8 👍

but i never really understood why they rushed to delete anyway! If you leave them on the items will either sell or not, same as now. You have to wait for payment but at £3/4 which a lot of my items are i will not be bothered about that. I sell to get rid, if i have to wait a bit longer then i will do so. NOW simple delivery is another thing altogether for me. If and when that is enforced i will be taking all my stuff off as i will not be using it.

I don't like waiting for my payment.
I like instant payment.
eBay is now not what it used to be.

EBay have stuffed this up big time. Give it a few weeks of this and they'll back track. I'd put money on it. Either way they've really shot themselves in the foot and aunty half gonna lose face.
Blimey I've had almost 60 messages since 7am!

I see on another popular thread on this that eBay have announced somewhere that this will "start" now on the 6th. Its unclear what start means. Everything or just electronics?
Its about time they told us what on earth they are doing don't you think. Not sure they actually know though.

Going off line for a bit. Too.many emails!
04-02-2025 5:21 PM
The thread about the postponement to the 6th looks like a false alarm. One solitary poster appears to have misread the announcement. NOBODY ELSE has noticed this change.

They are now saying in Announcements that the new " Simple" post thingy will start Feb. 10th. You couldn't make this up!

I've had 268 emails from this board today notifying me of replies to 5 or 6 threads including this one LOL !

I've just checked announcements (on a private account). It says nothing of the kind.
Are you confusing this with the increase in prices for Simple Delivery, which does come into effect on Feb 10th?

Maybe you should turn off that email notification feature and just come to the boards when you're bored? There's a little symbol at top right of the page, you can click on it to see a list of the sub'd threads that have changed.

It's been around for some categories since last Autumn.
05-02-2025 6:51 AM
Really. Well I've never seen it on the postage options page.
05-02-2025 9:30 AM
So if you have never seen something it doesn't exist?
Perhaps you might like to have a look at the ebay guidance on simple delivery.

No I wouldn't because its *bleep*.

How do you know if you haven't looked at it?
05-02-2025 10:17 AM
Because it's just more ebay control over what we do. Frankly how I post my items has nothing to do with them. They have MBG and if you send tracked your covered mostly by your carrier. This extra, at the want of repeating myselg once again, is a con to fill their coffers because they are leaking sellers and buyers will have nothing to buy.
05-02-2025 6:25 PM
The thing is eBay DO want control over how you post, because while you may or may not be good at packaging stuff safely MANY sellers do not and items arrived damaged.
If people didn't think taped up in a bin bag was sufficient, we probably wouldn't see these being implemented

How is any of this going to stop the ‘taped up in a bin bag’ thing though? You just have to know the parcel’s rough weight and measurement for the form. There’s no requirement to pack it properly.
