Ebay Buyer Protection

Hi - Message from Buyer to say an item hasn’t arrived - only just let us know.  We have proof of posting, so can refund - However who refunds the Ebay Buyer Protection, how do they claim that back - Thanks for any info.

Ebay will refund it.

I think when you process the refund, the BPF will appear as part of the refund but you won't be debited for it.  That is what used to happen when private sellers paid fees.

Refunds

When you receive a full refund for a cancellation, a return, or for an item that didn't arrive, the Buyer Protection fee will also be refunded in full.

If you receive a partial refund, your refund will include a prorated refund of the Buyer Protection fee. For example, if you receive a refund from the seller of 50% of the item price, you'll be refunded 50% of the Buyer Protection fee that you paid.

Has the buyer sent only a message or have they opened a case/request?

Also, was the item sent using a "Simple Delivery" label?

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
