EBay it’s the end for private sellers.

Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

I'd forgotten that the the under £10 feedback possibility was coming in - getting feedback is not easy. I've yet to say directly "please leave feedback"!

Agree absolutely. I've been saying exactly the same for weeks only to be
met with hostility from buisness sellers on this thread, pushing different
agendas to somehow defend eBay's practices.
It's not the funds hold that can't be justified but the timescales.
As you said this isn't buyers protection, it's simply not as the buyer is
protected by payment holds.

The payment holds are nothing more than a money making scam as they mislead
buyers to hold funds on tracked delivered items for weeks after delivery.

Weeks before the new rules I said sellers would see a massive increase in
items not being recorded as delivered as it's in eBays interest to make as
much interest as possible before releasing funds. It also became obvious
why fees were dropped & there was a massive drive to entice new sellers
(the more sellers the more money they make)

Clearly eBay has turned off the links between couriers & sellers delivery
status, although they claim it's broken (conveniently) and not being
repaired (conveniently).
I'm amazed the link that takes buyers payments never fails.

99% of my deliveries would show as delivered on eBay. Now the same
percentage show as pending delivery, despite being delivered. EBay is
currently making interest off my £400 funds. Imagine how much interest
they're making if you combine all private sellers. The last thing eBay
wants is to see delivered marked against an order. They will let a sporadic
few deliveries to register but these are low value sales that make them the
least interest.

The new rules are simply eBay's new way to make money for their share
holders and where people agree eBay is a profit making business itself,
people don't agree with the deceptive ways it's manipulating systems &
deceiving buyers & sellers to line their own pockets.

Interestingly eBay policy states, at no point does eBay own the property
being sold & isn't responsible for it. So why does eBay think it's
acceptable to make money from property they don't own whilst the property
owner has nothing?

I'm sorry that some of your deliveries are showing as pending despite having been delivered.

However I have sold several items since the new rules came in and all have been marked as delivered and the monies released 2 days later.  Bearing in mind how many private sellers there are and how few complaints about this on here I would say that Ebay hasn't turned off the links between couriers & sellers delivery
status and there is a problem affecting just a relatively few number of sellers rather than a conspiracy.

I realise it doesn't help you get access to your money but I  suspect that you are in the minority.

you will never convince, we have tried but they are determined to have their little conspiracy theory going!    So far i have made 12 sales, last 2 still waiting delivery(as per schedule), 9 paid for within the 2 days after delivery and 1 not marked and paid in 13 days.  THAT is my personal experience, others may have had different for different reasons but it does not mean that e bay and all the delivery companies are in some joint plot!

I wont be using Buy now as far to expensive, for better platforms to use now. I sell occasionally on other platforms and get no carp like you do on eBay. So now little point selling or purchasing on the platform.

I use RM second class large letter with a stamp and no tracking, or RM Tracked 48.

I am waiting for payment for a couple of low cost items.

One 'stamp only' buyer left prompt feedback and I was paid within 24 hours.

All of my RM Tracked 48 items this year have been marked as delivered and the money for recent sales has been released as promised - 2 days after tracking shows delivery.

Lots of the vocal minority have not even read the new terms and conditions and one person, complaining they had not been paid, who I responded to recently, said that they never bother to add their tracking to Ebay.

Quite a few of the moaners are actually business sellers using private accounts.  (Sorry, but that is a fact.)  One seller openly acknowledged they should have a business account but refused to do so because they 'didn't want their home address plastered all over Ebay'.

I don't like the new payment terms etc but 'it is what it is' and it's working for me.

i do not pay for tracking, send everything 2nd class and get a certificate of posting as i hand it over the counter rather than stamps.  The C of P has a tracking number which i enter as soon as i get back and in the majority of cases gets marked as delivered.  I think some people do not realise how important entering the tracking number can be or that the C of P is actually a working tracking number.  It just does not tell you what stage the delivery is at.

I suspect your sales are low value under £10 hence why eBays releasing funds from feedback & items sent with stamps. Glad it's working well for you but  this isn't the case with higher valued items with full tracking. eBay knows those deliveries make them great interest so despite RM track & trace showing delivery 48 hrs after posting the funds aren't being released for weeks because eBay fixes the accounts to ensure the delivery links says pending delivery. I knew before this started that sellers would suddenly see a massive increase in items marked undelivered. Myself I've posted over 30 items since 02/04 & all but 1 say pending. All tracked as before the new rules, nothings different RM are scanning them as delivered. eBay has been earning interest off £460 of my money & I'm not unique it's happening to millions of private sellers selling higher value items that earn eBay greater interest.

I have no idea why your RM Tracked items are showing as pending.  I can only say that NONE of mine are.  All show as delivered.  Tracking on Ebay shows as delivered.  I have been paid as expected.

I am surprised Ebay is holding so much of your money,  Funds are released 14 days after the transaction.

The solution to this is in your hands.  Business sellers are not subject to transaction holds.

All of my items that have sold since 4th Feb were sent RM Tracked 48 and one of them was £170 plus £30 p&p, the payment for all of them has been released 2 days after delivery. I think  it is time to leave the conversation. I've learnt quite a lot - so thank you to all those who are well informed!

My tracked deliveries are all tracking fine, I got my money for one item on the day it was delivered. I'll stick with tracked for the moment. 

My mother started an account last year so was on the money not given until delivery and it all worked out fine.

I've got a lot of stuff and need to have less, ebay probably works the best for me, I've been using it a long time.

They've been good when customers have tried it on!

As a buyer, particularly of low price items I am not so happy - business sellers of postacards might do better out of me than in the past.

Hope everyone finds where they need to be, sells some stuff - and eventually gets paid

If Royal Mail track & trace shows the delivery why doesn't eBay. The only
way you received funds was your delivery was recorded as delivered on eBay
otherwise you'd have to wait 14 days +. Oh no it seems you don't understand
that eBay has control of their systems & the links to couriers.

Yes but at least on V the price is listed at your price with fees added underneath instead of stupid amounts on listing.  Makes it look so untidy.

Hmmm... I've been thinking about our sunshine's problem (and having a good nosey look at her account 😎)

I'm wondering if this could be deliberate on the part of ebay ?

As in, the majority of her stuff is brand new (i.e. not private-seller type items) And is also in categories that - out in the real world- get looked at pretty closely by various authorities.

Stuff like vitamins and supplements  (i.e. things that get taken/eaten by humans )

Beauty treatments, skin creams and the like  (i.e. things that get put on  human skin)

Dog and pet worming and flea treatments etc  (i.e. fairly powerful chemical items)

It's possible ebay would *really* like this seller to change up to a business  account, so at least it'd look as though ebay had taken due care about what was on their site.....(just in case somebody/somebody's pet has a drastic reaction to a possibly fake product, and they decide to try legal action)

It's a possible reason for sunshine's lengthy payment holds...?

Please read my feedback & 100% feedback that has been maintained for years.
If you'd like some tips on how to improve your own selling standards &
improve your own feedback don't hesitate in letting me know.
It's so easy to understand a sellers mentality when read their comments
here & on their selling accounts.

Refunded.... By the way, using a neg to *ask* for a return is a very silly
thing to do (and not what feedback is for) As you have already done your
worst (that a buyer can do to a seller) I really had no need to refund you,
did I? luckily for you, I'm a nice person.....Also please remove the neg
you left for your last seller before me, as it was *exactly* the same as
mine, so you left that one by mistake for an innocent seller. And please
learn what feedback is actually for.
