Well finally after changing the format of their selling platform it seems every couple of weeks you have come up with the ultimate level of stupidity with this latest total ridiculous set of changes. Nobody is going to wait what could be weeks to be paid for a item they have sold who ever dreamt up this idea much be so far from reality as needing to push every part time seller off the site. I knew when they came up with the idea of free selling it wouldn’t be long before the idiots that run eBay came up with totally and ridiculous idea to claw back the money they have lost the whole senior management team at EBay must seat round a table all wearing clown costumes saying what is the most stupid idea we can come with to really get rid of half of our customers and the biggest clown wins with this idea and all the other yes people follow. Well I had started selling a few bits again but never again and will not be using EBay again to sell anything it has become a total joke of a company I hope your poor and flawed decisions finally catch up with this once great place to buy and sell has become a total joke.

I get why there's the whole business vs private war and it's almost certainly within eBay's interest that it continues which is almost certainly why the khudos mods let it fly too.

But to me that's just a smell coming from a far bigger problem.

& that's what I choose to focus on.

Agree absolutely. I've been saying exactly the same for weeks only to be
met with hostility from buisness sellers on this thread, pushing different
agendas to somehow defend eBay's practices.

It's not the funds hold that can't be justified but the timescales.

As you said this isn't buyers protection, it's simply not as the buyer is
protected by payment holds.

The payment holds are nothing more than a money making scam as they mislead
buyers to hold funds on tracked delivered items for weeks after delivery.

Weeks before the new rules I said sellers would see a massive increase in
items not being recorded as delivered as it's in eBays interest to make as
much interest as possible before releasing funds. It also became obvious
why fees were dropped & there was a massive drive to entice new sellers
(the more sellers the more money they make)

Clearly eBay has turned off the links between couriers & sellers delivery
status, although they claim it's broken (conveniently) and not being
repaired (conveniently).

I'm amazed the link that takes buyers payments never fails.

99% of my deliveries would show as delivered on eBay. Now the same
percentage show as pending delivery, despite being delivered. EBay is
currently making interest off my £400 funds. Imagine how much interest
they're making if you combine all private sellers. The last thing eBay
wants is to see delivered marked against an order. They will let a sporadic
few deliveries to register but these are low value sales that make them the
least interest.

The new rules are simply eBay's new way to make money for their share
holders and where people agree eBay is a profit making business itself,
people don't agree with the deceptive ways it's manipulating systems &
deceiving buyers & sellers to line their own pockets.

Interestingly eBay policy states, at no point does eBay own the property
being sold & isn't responsible for it. So why does eBay think it's
acceptable to make money from property they don't own whilst the property
owner has nothing?

not sure why this response is to me, i have never said anything that agrees with your conspiracy theories.  I have said i do not like the new changes but they have so far worked out okay for me.  Maybe start taking the water with the hardstuff!

Its hardly a conspiracy its common knowledge if you open your eyes and ears its what everyone is saying, my private account has the same issues tracking conveniently no longer working , payments being held for two + weeks its a joke so are the people supporting it.  Search google - ebay - reviews, there you go some education.

I'm obviously not everybody as I am NOT having any tracking issues. All the items I have sold since the new rules came in, including one valued at £200 including p&p, have been sent RM tracked 48, the tracking has been updated on the day of delivery and payments released 2 days later.

I realise how annoying and worrying this is to those it is happening to but I would suggest, based on how few posts there are on the communities boards about this issue, that it is a very small minority of private sellers affected by this issue.

not everyone at all.  There are a number of people who are saying the same kind of thing that i am about the deliveries being marked and payments going in on time.  There again i would never claim to speak for everyone!  I have just had an item i posted on the 28th marked as delivered today and the payment is due to go in on the 5th.  I am now up to 10 out of 12 being marked as delivered all paid out (apart from todays obviously) in the two days stated, 1 undelivered paid out on day 13 and the other one posted on 26/2 still waiting for delivery.  If it has been delivered as in i do not get an IND then i would hope that my payment goes in on the 14th day.  Maybe the problem is with the courier you use or even some other reason but i still do not believe it is a gigantic scam between e bay and couriers!  If that was the case then everyone really would be never having anything marked as delivered.

Yes.

Quite happy to rip eBay off by not paying the correct fees and quite happy to have their buyers pay these fees on orders they shouldn't have to pay them on

Well it looks like Ebay haved really rubbed Private Sellers up and now I can see why having just sold an item which the buyer duly paid immediately BUT when I look at my Funds Available its not there.

So checking the good (Some) people in the community I note why,  just when you think Ebay is making things a lot easier they come up with this PENDING scheme.

Personally I do my best to be very flexible and  accomodate buyers collection dates / times but now it back fires as I dont get paid until they give me a code,  pre this new Ebay scheme I sokd a few items, duly paid and collected, but after exchanging a little banter I forget to get the code and despite several Emails those items are still there supposedly uncollected as they fail to acknowledge my Emails.

A QUESTION while this current item is paid for and payment pending, can the buyer change his mind and retract his payment ???.

AND just a point to ponder, I sold a large item about 5 months ago, all paid for but as of yet still to be collected, I get favourable responses from the buyer, but as of yet to be collected,  it is large and in the way .....
