THIS THREAD IS NOT JUST TO POST COMMENTS THAT ARE NOT FACT.
I hope that there are now plenty of fed up private sellers and buyers who despise these new changes.
Ebay used to be a fun place to buy and sell but recently thanks to the greed of the shareholders and Owners it's becoming intolerable.
Once my last 5 listings hopefully sell there won't be anymore listed until ebay changes and go back to happier times. I even now buy things from companies direct that I once brought on ebay which now looks over their peak and on the downward slippery slope.
Holding payments, charges, and various fees for buyers and sellers are just a few. I cannot now trust or believe what ebay say.

'Wonky prices' - not the end of the world but also for ebay easy to fix and totally unnecessary. Don't like the wonky prices as both a buyer and seller - as a buyer, i tend to use a wonky price as an indicator that the item is in foreign currency, sure I can find another way of doing the same thing but unnecessary changes are irritating. As seller I have been iterating to get the answer i want which is the work of moments but also unnecessary. Why on earth don't ebay provide an option to enter the buyer price or maybe even default to that?
As has been pointed out previously many times, the offer system around the buyer fee is also confusing and a bit of a mess.

It just seems to be this thread, like there are ghost messages we can't see!
Buyers fees were rolled out successively to various categories.
This thread today... other threads later! 🙂

Absolutely agree.
I want to return an item.
Seller agrees - have e mailed and described faults ( although no returns accepted ).
Trying to go through ebay.
Will not accept photos so cannot send refund request ( agreed to by seller).
Cannot access any ebay help.
Thinking of closing my account.

Totally with you - first they imposed the buyers protection fee - which means either items don't sell or sellers receive less cash - then they hold back your payment for days - I know some items have been delivered as I have had info from buyer - but service has not marked as delivered so I am waiting for another week or so
Now they imposed simple delivery - which makes no account of the cost to sellers of packaging or travelling to post offices etc - then if you opt out it's a real chore to list your items - today the final straw for me - someone bought a brand new pair of shoes from me - correctly described and in original box. Buyer wants to return as they 'don't fit' - fine but eBay has made me refund the initial postage fee because I didn't use their delivery system but Royal Mail instead! So now I am out of pocket because someone's feet didn't suit a shoe properly described. It took over 20 minutes talking to customer service to be told if you don't use simple delivery - you can't avoid refunding postage costs in full
eBay no longer cares about private sellers - I have had enough

You are so right.
The platform just don't care and it's near on impossible to get a sensible solution from CS.
My other thread 'No Longer Selling Due To Simple Delivery' is still busy with posts highlighting issues private sellers are having with SD and I started the thread on the last day of March.

BPF is a very simple concept in business for eBay. It is solely for profit for the company.
They lost out on seller fees copy catting other platforms, massive mistake on eBay's part.
Buyers always had protection at all times, now eBay say it is "enhanced" protection, LOL
It is simply a buyer tax, meaning you pay BPF for the "privilege" of buying from a supreme top class platform.
Think for a moment, they eBay cannot get seller fees, so it has been passed onto the buyer simple.
If you are not happy with the end price from the seller, go elsewhere, that is also simple, eBay are seeing this now, sellers and buyers moving on. BPF and SD are here to stay, so get used to it or go.
RIP private sellers.

We are, tiny little seller people being ripped of buy the school bully who stole your dinner money.
Come on private sellers grow a backbone and fight back, or are we all just wimps that let the bully win?
Try and hold on to your dinner money, bullies hate it when you stand up to their behavior. And with enough, unity they will soon get the message!!!
"Are you with me Simpson?"
Cheer up and enjoy your day and life, it could be a lot worse, remember that.
