Is anyone else experiencing problems with a nicely structured advert description becoming scrambled with formatting code added when you revise an advert on a mobile phone?
I usually create my adverts on ebay.co.uk then save for later, then add my photos using the ebay app on my phone. When when I go back to the advert the nicely formatted description has all been compressed together practically in one paragraph making it difficult to read.
Its obviously a recent change which is causing formatting issues between ebay.co.uk and the ebay app.
I have raised a case with ebay tech team but they seem to think I'm stupid and don't know what I'm talking about. I did use to work in IT!
Just curious if anyone else has discovered this annoying problem?

Hi lakelandlady22, thanks for your post.
Did you try clearing the caches and cookies of your browser to see if that helps? Or did you try using a different browser? If you did all this, and you still see the same, please take a screenshot of it, and share it here (make sure there is not personal/sensitive information shown on the screenshot), and I will be happy to take a further look for you.
Thank you,
Marco

Thanks for your reply. Yes I've cleared cache etc etc.
I attach a couple of screen shots from my android phone where I have the ebay app installed to show you the formatting script which is added to the description field when you save an item (to add photos later), or end an item to relist it later on. The script which is added to the original description text is formatting script language.
I can see this is happening to other people's listings but they aren't noticing it then pushes all the Description words together in one big paragraph and any spacing or formatting you have used eg, line spacing or bullet points (to make the reading easier for viewers) has gone when they relist.
Not this does not happen when using ebay.co.uk on a laptop only the ebay app.

Ho @lakelandlady22 ,
Thank you for your reply and for the details with the screenshot example.
There is a bug ticket open with tech for this issue occurring on ios on the app. I'll add your account to it. We don't have a timescale on the fix but once there is an update we will post back on the thread. In the meantime as a workaround you can update the details on ebay.co.uk from a desktop/laptop or through a web browser.
Thank you,
Kat

Users of this site shouldn't have to "use a different browser".
The app/desktop/website etc etc should be working properly..this is supposed to be one of the biggest companies on the planet but it's looking more & more like some tinpot operation by the week.
I've had the same issue as the OP...everything on here seems to be going to the dogs..can't they employ IT people who know how to do their jobs properly?

OK thanks for letting me know. I raised this with ebay Tech a while ago when I first noticed it and they told me it wasn't a problem, clearly it is.
For info my phone is a Samsung Android phone, not Apple.
