Someone found the dates yesterday and posted them. Just thought it made sense to make it easier to find.
It's in the Help Section under Opt out
Simple Delivery will be the only listing option as of 15th April and they will start adjusting current listings from the 7th April.
So at least we know where the Iceberg is now.

You are lucky. Evri have NEVER made an effort to deliver to me. They state
they tried 3 times and then return my Ebay purchases to the seller!!!.
It would actually be better for buyers if Evri just dangled it above our heads on a fishing rod and made us dance for it.
As I said before sellers happy with SD because they use Evri anyway really don't know or care how bad the delivery experience can be for their buyers and may not know that there are those of us that tend to avoid listings with Evri delivery.
I think Ebay understand Evri's reputation problem which is why they are trying to hide their awful partner behind standard and express delivery options like all that matters is the timescales.

Yeah they used to be like that here but in the past month or so they've been behaving differently and even more annoyingly ... and I'm sure it's because they're now taking on these 'simple' deliveries. The couriers are even more rushed and I've waited ages for some to arrive. The only time they've been any good was when they were still Hermes and I was working from home every day during covid, so I was actually in.

You've just described me. And my position has little to do with the impact on the money I'll get. Aside from a strong aversion to corporations dictating how I do things, it's an inconvenience. I use Royal Mail for all of my postage because I don't have a printer and they'll collect from my door and bring the label at no extra cost - but only if I buy the postage through the Royal Mail app.
I've raved to people about the convenience of selling on eBay without having to leave my house. And now they've ruined it.
Side note; I stopped using EVRI before I found out about the free bring my label service from RM. I stopped using them after I spent one Saturday afternoon driving to four different locations to find a printer that worked. I figured the cost of the fuel and my time wasn't worth whatever the difference in delivery charges was. Particularly when the items I'm selling are almost always under £20.

Poor you (us).
I had a lady call and collect all my low value items I was preparing to
sell on Ebay. She will sell them at boot fairs for her dog charity.
My higher priced pieces of Spode will sit on my sideboard gathering dust
until this new postal regime is scrapped!!!.
Cheers

No reason to give up and let them gather dust. It's a long time since Ebay had a monopoly, there's other fish in the sea. Some are very controlling, some aren't.

Just checked my listings and they have all changed to not so simple delivery.
I have mine all with free postage, but if I go to revise listings it says buyer pays?
9 out of 10 ebay set postage is wrong, wrong weight, wrong size.
There is no provision for Royal mail next day, which I use for high value items because the insurance is higher and the less time in transit the better.
There is no provision for long items, I have items over a meter, ebay only goes to 61cm.
Royal mail goes to £150 insurance with tracked 24, I use other services for higher value items, no provision for that either.
Most of my items are on ebay for a long time, I cannot package them beforehand and leave them like that, I package when sold then find a suitable service.
This is a joke.

It makes no sense, my items say free postage, but if I go into revise listings they say buyer pays postage.

Try toggling
to and fro
its the only thing the robots understand
do it until it says what YOU want it to say
Failing that play around
sad isn’t it

I can change it to I pay no problem, but as it is, if a buyer clicks on it says free post, as it should.
So why is it set to buyer pays in the revise listing by ebay?
Also I changed a large item to freight because ebay only goes to 61x46x46, which is a royal mail size. After changing it to freight the listing then removes the free postage and says contact seller.
I think I will have to go through the listings and use an educated guess from memory as I've not seen half the things for years as they are in the loft, and pick a postage that will possibly cover them. Probably going up a size, then add a few quid to the item price to cover it.
Items that are over the compensation price change to freight so I can pick my own postage and put freepost in the item description.
It's pathetic, my method was working for years.

Sorry can’t help with the revised listing
maybe end it and relist or list afresh
in general it’s pants
eBay have had mONTHS to sort it all out and they have failed to do so without “glitches” as they call them
live come to the conclusion that maybe eBay is pants most of the time seeing as they seem to always have a lot of problems
Why is it only them?
who cares anyway
if they can’t get their act together it will be taken away by people going elsewhere when they can

Just found this from ebay/
Note. Royal Mail has advised post offices to accept all Simple Delivery packages, as long as the parcel remains within the maximum weight and dimensions. These are 20kg and 61cm x 46cm x 46cm. You can see our FAQs for more information.
If the post office won’t accept your Simple Delivery label, and your parcel is within the maximum weight and dimensions (20 kg and 61 cm x 46cm x 46cm), we recommend showing them the guidance on the Post Office website under Personal accounts.
Items that don't comply with the eBay delivery Terms and Conditions may not be accepted nor protected during transit. To avoid any inconvenience, make sure your items comply with the terms and conditions and prohibited and restricted items guidance.
If everything with your package is in order but you're still experiencing issues at the drop off point or with the courier, please visit our Help Hub or get in touch with our customer service team.
In addition to Post Office locations, sellers posting using Royal Mail can also use Collect+ drop off locations, as long as the parcel is within the maximum weight and dimensions (20kg and 61 cm x 46cm x 46cm). Find your nearest parcelshop on the Royal Mail website.

Well now it is June,, 3 months into your predicted hopeful time span, and one of my sites has just been converted to simple postage and I have no intention of amending every listing to the right ball park figure, nor will I be sending anything within two days unless it is just before my weekly drive to the post office!! I will not be using Evri as they are awful and no where close to me to drop off, at least I should say close and easy to access as most shops have no parking and I'm too busy to keep making trips and can't carry heavy stuff. I've put collection only but put on details on my site misc.odds. I can post and to get in touch. Altogether as a private seller selling family *bleep*, I have 9 sites about 1500 listings, some are tiny and will never sell with charges and £2.70 p. Plus I will have to add packaging to my listings as I go, tape, petrol ect all adds up. My postage is often and educated guess as some things can only be precise when wrapped, Some listings are on for years and then they sell, I'll deal with incorrect postage as and when. Ebay are charging more in some cases than I was with packaging incl. They are insane and soooo greeeedy... out of touch with who their customers are, I sell more odd things than I do clothes. Also some are large and I've used R.M. collection, apparently not an option anymore. I think a lot of problems ahead for everyone involved. I wish someone would start a new site purely for private people, not businesses ruining it all as they do now, remember ebay 20 plus years ago....

Two 2 days.... impossible to do when you are a just a person who has work, retirement activities or commitments etc. or you live a drive away and it's not economic to drive with one parcel!! I will message buyer and if they are not happy to wait a few days I'll cancel and put on vinted which has 5 days. I go once a week and always have done or in the old days once every couple of weeks when the 10days ended. Vinted buyers charges are a little less and you can't tell what ebays are they seem to vary, the set fee not the %
Ebay need a reality check. Private sellers are the backbone of ebay and many have been on 20 yrs plus but now all you get is business after business so how can I sell my duvet when 500 business show and then the promoted listings, before mine, surprised I'm still selling anything.
Another sneaky thing - before the buyers fee my sales were massively down, then suddenly when the buyers fee was added my sales rocketed. I think ebay were deliberately keeping sales low, so when the buyers fee was introduced they could put your site back to normal and then they can say o look the buyers fee has made no difference, look how well sales are doing........... We all know they don't show all of your listings to all of the people all of the time. Or how is it you suddenly selll 3 things to the Isle of Man or things to 2 streets next to each other in a town?? 6 things to Glasgow... etc..

All my listings still have the the custom postage i applied when originally listed but if i revise any of them then my postage disappears and simple postage overwrites them. I have removed Evri as a postal carrier as i only use that service if i have to as in if the length of the parcel exceeds 61cm. Even when i do use Evri the parcel nearly always is delayed.

Totally agree with you - private sellers do it as a spare time activity, although with increasing bills what used to be my holiday fund is now used for bills! I count it as part of my pension as only have state. Simpe delivery also steals your packaging money - I add 20-50p and for very large difficult things to wrap, like mirrors which can take an hour or more - finding stuff, making a box etc... I might add £2. So if I add this to the price the buyers fee will go up, less chance to sell.. less money for ebay. Although with all the business on here now I doubt they will notice. Rang customer service the other day, nice Irish man told me I'm the salt of ebays earth.. how they value the private seller etc............. find that hard to believe. Thought of calling one of my sites, almosttheonlyprivatebooksellerinthevillage, see my books on school.stuff!!!

Why do you assume someone who has masses of listings is a business? Isn't the real question whether they're buying to sell? If they aren't, they're a personal seller.

I'm seeing people talk about short despatch times, such as 3 days. Is this something new with SD? I've always had my despatch time at 5 days in my settings. I'm not yet switched over to SD, am I going to find this is yet another aspect where my flexibility is nailed down? Or are people not aware they should go into settings and check the many things that can be amended there?
