Someone found the dates yesterday and posted them. Just thought it made sense to make it easier to find.
It's in the Help Section under Opt out
Simple Delivery will be the only listing option as of 15th April and they will start adjusting current listings from the 7th April.
So at least we know where the Iceberg is now.

Fully agree with you and @theelench
I no longer believe anything they say or trust this platform anymore, how can you now?
As you say, plenty of misinformation given, probably in good faith as that’s what they’re told but in practice it proves incorrect.

I can't see an option for home collection in person for the item?
Am I missing it or doesn't it exist?
13-04-2025 7:32 AM
Not sure where it is but people can select home collection, had one last week - it must be bundled into the simple delivery as it does not seem to offer that on the listing page or perhaps one of the preferences sections ?? It certainly can be done as normal
13-04-2025 7:39 AM
What reason did you give for removing the listings? No longer available?

With Simple Delivery home collection is only available if using Royal Mail and you have to print the label yourself then go to RM site to book a collection using the reference number on the label, direct booking a collection from within eBay is currently being worked on.

I too use Royal Mail to collect my parcels and ask them to bring a label (which my Postie says is no bother). It really has made my life easier BUT now with this 'Simple Delivery' Ebay, once again, are making life that little bit harder. There have been so many changes lately that I just can't keep up! and don't get me started on the items you can't list, some are simply ridiculous.

Oh yes I had not thought of the combined postage problem. I am sure they will sort that out promptly, not!

Ditto. I found that a small but quite heavy item was going to be in excess of £10 when it would have been £8.19 with ordinary tracked …. who gets the extra money I wonder

Still not mandatory...
19-04-2025 1:26 PM
Apparently some categories it has vanished, it is still there for books at the moment.
Some have said the simple delivery mandate has been reversed, no idea if that is the case, I have seen no announcements as yet. I think it was rushed, too rushed

'Some have said the simple delivery mandate has been reversed,....'
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not reversed, no.
But it is taking rather longer to roll it out over all accounts than we were led to believe.
Ebay has now stated that it will be mandatory for *all* private sales by 26th(?) of April.
19-04-2025 1:40 PM
So I tried it this week it's a con!! 6 parcels all same size weight category some paid 3.44 for 48 hr tracked royal mail some paid 5.15 some paid 2.34 all exact same service it's ridiculous also you are still rated by customer for postage prices which is bs as I'm not charging it!!
19-04-2025 1:48 PM
thanks for clearing up that there has been no reversal, I was surprised when I was told that ... so now it is going to be mandatory on private sales 26th April. This is a baffling thing from ebay

26th(?) of April.
which year ?
P*** Up In A Brewery rules apply

I have withdrawn all my items for sale whilst this new postage mandate takes shape.
If you offer free postage how will that work as well as collection and personal delivery to a sellers home.
I do not own a printer either.
19-04-2025 2:02 PM
I have withdrawn 99% of my books for now, I am confused about how this is going, it was simple ... now no idea. I have moved to vinted for a while, see how that goes.

'.....so now it is going to be mandatory on private sales 26th April.....'
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, around the 26th I think (spotted this on another thread where it came up in an answer from ebay CS ; sorry can't remember which thread. And CS sometimes tell lies by the way 😒)
Currently some sellers are *all* S.D., some sellers have none and some sellers are half S.D. and half not! 😲
I think we all have to sit on our hands for a week or so until this terrible mess straightens out.....
