Apologies if this has already been answered before, I did look! 

I've sold an item on Ebay. As I work, collection has to be late afternoon/evening or weekends. Buyer has asked me to leave item outside so he can just collect it, as he wants to collect in tomorrow morning. 

It's not a massive amount of money, but I'm not comfortable doing this. 

Where do I stand? What happens if I say no?

Your buyer needs to hand over the 6 digit collection code when they come to collect, which you need to input so that eBay know that the buyer has collected their item.

That's something you'll need to work out with him, else he can claim that he came to collect and it wasn't there.

Just say no you will need to be in to take the collection number from them. 

I believe its a QR code they get now to show the seller.

There's a QR code which can only be scanned via the app and a collection code which can be entered via the app or the website.

Don't do it.  Collection should be at a mutually acceptable time and date. Then you have the QR code problem.  

Give your buyer some dates and times and see what he/she says.

I should have looked at what you sold and it appears to be the item for £1.13. Forget what I said in your place  I would just leave it outside.  If it is nicked all you are going to lose is one hundred and thirteen pence.  

If it does get pinched then I will personally refund you to the tune of £1.13.  Tell him/her to let you have the QR number by emailing it or scribbling it on a bit of paper and putting it through your letterbox.
