Is anyone else not able to send invoices as of today?
I sold three items on my private account and they were for ‘freight’ items which I usually issue an invoice for once the buyer clicks the buy-it-now button. But there is no option and they are asking me how to pay.
they also get an error message when they try to request an invoice.
two different eBay reps gave me differing advice, one said that it’s a global eBay problem today - is anyone else having this issue please?

Just to update anyone watching this thread. It looks like the ability to add the same tracking code to more than 1 item has been disabled.
The system says the tracking number is already used.
So the refund afterwards and add tracking number option looks gone too.
It came up on the ask eBay thread earlier this afternoon.
Means they could be in the nasty did not arrive claim area as they can't prove dispatch.

I am having the same problem today. Where I click to send invoice, it shows ‘cancel item’.
just spent an age online and the eBay agent says it is a problem of which they are aware. They are trying to sort it out.

Yep, still a technical issue!
This a recent message from Community Manager Kat :
We are aware of the issue and its currently being looked at for a fix. We don't have an exact timescale right now but its being worked on.
In the meantime you may need to refund the shipping difference to your buyer after the purchase.

Hi there, i get the same - 'cancel item' is yours fixed? i just phoned ebay and the agent said that this is normal because of simple delivery and ebay now send invoices out for sellers? can that be correct? any help appreciated, Ed

yes same issue for the last 2 weeks cant see it being fixed just pot luck if buyers pay no other option pathetic sellers will be running off soon

simple delivery great if you have a printer and lots of time all ridiculous im leaving Ebay after being there from day 1 its going from bad to impossible for private sellers

If there is any sense/validity to the collected information we have been seeing, reading between the lines, invoicing is probably gone.
1) we've seen posts where buyers are being charged BPF fees for every item on an invoice.
It's a Buyer Protection Fee, not Item so that is almost certainly a breach of UK law.
If so, it's easier for them just to switch off the system where that happens than to try and recode everything.
2) we're seeing posts where CS are quoted as saying 90 days for the repair. That puts it bang in Q2 which is when Simple Delivery is supposedly unleashed and that will kill invoicing anyway.
How can a seller invoice when they have no control over post choice?
It's almost certainly gone. Unless they stop all the new programs.

This is getting ridiculous now.
Cant send invoices any longer to combine buyers items into one postage cost, do you know when this will be resolved? as at the moment i am using my un-released funds (which you are holding until items are delivered) to refund excess postage charges to the buyer.
This is so stressful for myself and the buyers.
The message has been saying "invoicing is temp down for weeks" - if you have taken the option away please let sellers know this instead of us all relying on a fix that you are not even looking at.

I've made a number of posts on this, maybe you haven't seen them.
It looks like the BPF is almost certainly the problem. We're seeing buyers that are being charged BPF for every item in a combined sale.
It's a Buyer Protection Fee
Not an Item Protection Fee
How can they legally charge 1 buyer multiple buyer fees for different items?
There's no way that is legal and as soon as that became apparent from posts the Invoice system suddenly, unexpectedly, died.
Since then one of the things we're seeing post wise is a timeframe of 90 days.
That puts in square in Q2 which is when they plan to unleash Simple Delivery on us and the CEO is on record saying they want it mandatory.
Simple Delivery kills invoicing anyway. Simply no way it could work when other parties have control over postage choice.
Read between the lines and it is dead. They just don't have the decency to say that.

I asked eBay on "x" why sending an invoice option has dieappeared & got this
amongst a load of waffle:
Recently our Tech teams have determined that the invoice option is no longer available due to compatibility updates within our system. This change was made to ensure a more streamlined and efficient process.

This is the 'more streamlined process' and we have to lump it.

What I've been saying since it started.
It was obvious the BPF was the problem as soon as we started seeing posts about what was happening.
Easier for them to switch it off than fix it.
