Hi Folks, last night I listed an action camera on a buy it now with offers, sold it overnight for full asking price (and buyers fee) Was quite pleased until I noticed winner was a ZERO rated buyer, I thought I had blocked ZERO rated buyers but obviously not. I cancelled the sale, buyer hasn't contacted me to ask why. Have I done the right thing?

There is no way to block "ZERO rated buyers".
I was going to say congratulations on your sale to a new buyer however that ship has sailed.
What reason did you use to cancel the sale & had they paid?

Good Evening Frog
No you haven't done the right thing in cancelling the sale. If I was the buyer then I would be miffed that you have gone against the spirit of selling.
Additionally it is impossible to block zero rated buyers. Everyone, included you and I started off as zero buyers.
By your action you may find yourself in trouble ie a harmful defect against your account.

They had paid, obviously money not in my account until item delivered as per new eBay rules. Issue with buyers delivery address was my reason for cancelling.

The buyer could report you for cancelling, but being new they probably won't know how.
They may also never buy on ebay again, which is just what ebay doesn't want.

I thought in the past I had blocked zero rated bidders? I wonder if the buyer will contact me and ask why I cancelled, would you?

Hi Frog
You have never been able to block zero rated buyers. I doubt if the person will contact you. You ask if I would, the answer is yes.

You can block low feedback buyers from making lots of purchases from you, not just one.

Good Evening Papso
Indeed, you can prevent any buyer from making more than one purchase from you in a given period.

You can also put any buyer on the your 'blocked buyer list' if you believe in advance they might be trouble.
