If a buyer makes the offer you get less because the Buyer Protection Fee is taken off. If you make the offer the buyer pays more because the BPF is added on.

The buyer offers what they are prepared to pay, therefore that includes the BPF.

If a buyer bids on an auction or makes an offer on a listing, the Buyer Protection fee is included in their auction or offer amount, so they know exactly how much they'll pay if they win the auction or if their offer is accepted. The seller sees the auction or offer price without the fee, so they know exactly how much they'll receive. As the Buyer Protection fee is variable, the fee amount that the buyer actually pays is calculated as part of the final auction selling price.

I also think that is wrong. Ebay should have advised an offer had been made where you'd receive £1047.33 especially as they claim there are no seller fees.

Another seller shafted by a system that is not as straight forward as sellers believe!
This ‘offer price’ is a an awfully misleading ‘sales ploy’ - the offer price is not what the seller gets or expects and I’ve pointed it out several times to sellers who are oblivious to it. Before some platform expert comes along and blames sellers for being unaware - remember the sales platform should be straightforward and obvious - not something they have to navigate carefully looking for what could be considered deliberate pitfalls with them bearing the cost … and loss.
Think when simple delivery arrives you’ll see ‘many’ more issues arise and another big downturn in those questioning if this is any more the platform for them to be involved in.

confusing if you don’t read all the bumpf
if eBay are copying vinted they have done this different
if you get an offer there it’s that and the buyer fees are on top of the offer
this must be so because I never get n offer there for 5.88 for example
It’s always round number in a few pounds less than asking price
if vinted were taking off the buyer fee and presenting you with the offer it wouldn’t be that
I think lol
