Buyer wants to cancel but I've missed the deadline to accept

Hi All,

I've been away the last few days and come back to a buyer who has paid for an item but wanted to cancel it as 'It was a mistake'. I understand you have to accept/decline within 3 days of which I've missed. I've even tried to cancel my side but it won't let me as 'theres already a cancellation request'.

Ebay is now telling me to print the label. Do I still send it? If I do and buyer leaves negative feedback ect to be 'spiteful' then there's nothing I could do?

The cancellation request will expire after 3 complete days.   Knowing ebay it'll probably be a bit longer than that.    Then you should be able to cancel the transaction.

No, don't print it, but I think if you have it will be OK as you haven't used it. Can you just refund the buyer? Go to the order and use the drop down box to find refund. Make sure you select "buyer wants to cancel". Everything else will be done by Ebay.

Buyer wants to cancel but I've missed the deadline to accept

Hi jacbrile-1, thanks for your post.

Please note that it is entirely up to you as a seller to whether decline or accept a cancellation request. If your intention is to cancel the order, then do not print the label and you should be able to cancel the transaction in question from the transaction details. However, if you don't want to cancel the order, you can go ahead and print the label and complete the transaction as usual.

If you are still having issues with the order in question, please let me know and I will be happy to take a further look for you.

Thank you,

Marco

I am currently away, and will return on the 5th of August. Please expect a delay in my reply
