I have received an offer for a item (£750 so not insignificant albeit below asking price)
the buyer is certain he selected collection but when I review the offer it says “post to his address. Is this a scam or a glitch? Or am I missing something completely. I have messaged him privately and we are both happy to meet for the collection as are only 15 miles from eachother.

Can you post the item number as i cannot see anything of that value in your sold items.

I haven’t accepted the offer yet as I was unsure and wanted consultation first before I clicked accept, as it seemed slightly fishy and I am inexperienced

When a buyer makes an offer, and you have a postage option on your listing, I believe that it show's the buyer's post code to ship to.
As long as your buyer selected collection from the Review Offer section (it will show delivery as a default) then all is good.

Whatever happens do not arrange collection for an item ebay thinks will be posted, and vice versa.
If after you accept it still shows postage, cancel, relist at the price the buyer agreed (bearing in mind you need to allow for the buyer protection fee), and with collection as the only option.
