It’s not surprising sales are dropping off. I have just sold 4 philatelic items for a total of £16.30 and I see that a BFP of £3.55 has been added to the order. That is over 20% of the original price. In this instance the buyer seems to be prepared to pay it. I wonder however how many other buyers would cancel.

Buyers (in almost all scenarios) see the BPF upfront - i.e. the item price they see includes the BPF.
And many people were trying to sell items for e.g. 99p before BPF! Not many buyers for the same items at £1.75.

It doesn’t seem right that they have charged the 75p BPF on each of the 4 items. All the 4 items have all been despatched in the same envelope so I would have thought one 75p BFP should be appropriate. Like many sellers I like to treat my buyers fairly and don't like to see them paying over the odds.

Not much anybody can do about it. In the olden days fees were something like (I can't remember exactly) 30p per payment plus 13%. Some people win, some people lose out. There's lots of people on these forums saying they are unhappy and leaving - (also to do with Simple Delivery and other things).
I had over two hundred items listed, mostly under £10 including postage. I now have 13, although I will put some of the remaining items into bundles. I doubt the remaining "150" would ever sell with BPF or SD; and I doubt I'll bother trying.
