Bulky parcel what to do?

I am an old member of ebay community but a relatively new seller (9 months ), I sell my collection of American girl items to raise funds for charity. I had already  all possible  types of scammers  , sometimes I feel completely out of control, I am seriously considering closing my activity at least for Christmas period, as it seems to attract more than usual number of thieves and  some strange people.

My question ; is it possible to stop selling for a month or two? I am really fed up now.

The last straw was a bulky parcel arrangements with DHL who didn't bother to collect and I will have to carry a heavy (10kgs dolls furniture)  parcel to my Post Office ( I am a pensioner)  and pay Parcelforce shipment and insurance myself. How to claim this  money?

Horrible abuse of sellers . I never expected it from Ebay.

You can use the Time Away feature to stop selling for up to a month. Then sell for a day, and use it for another month. This lets you keep your listings so that you don't have to redo them from scratch.

Time Out also gives you the option to go away for up to a fortnight, still taking sales, but you don't send until your return. Unfortunately in this modern world Buyers often don't read about the dispatch time, so I don't recommend this option.

Good Morning Eugene

Yes you can stop selling at any time. As regards the bulky, heavy item it may well have been better to have made it collection only and indeed should you decide to resell any similar items consider collection instead of posting.

If you are going to pay for Royal mail/parcelforce, there is no need to carry it to the post office as you can book in a collection at the same time. Ive never not had them turn up for a collection. DHL is notorious for either not collecting or turning up days late. Ebay should never have given them the contract IMHO.
