Bizarre code when listing

Recently, when I go to "Sell Similar Item", I see not only a new format, but huge amounts of strange incomprehensible computer code in the item description box.

Before it was just plain text as you can see me writing now. 

Now it's "%@,&*....(type here)..." type stuff. 

It's impossible to edit this. I've tried a few times and just gave up. 

Is this a glitch? 

The only other issue relating to my account (I have very positive 100% feedback) is that Ebay are chasing me for National Insurance details. Is it possible they've 'glitched' me because I haven't done that yet?

There are some glitches around at the moment to do with punctuation...... things like ' , or " seem to be appearing as a collection of stuff similar to what you've written.... $£@!*  etc

So if you have any measurements etc. in the description? it may be coming up as gibberish.

Almost looks like a 'swearing' glitch  😂

(Ebay are aware of it and it has been 'flagged' to the tech dept....)

Reassured that glitches are a known common problem. 

I will try using my laptop to see whether it's just a problem using an Android phone.

It is a known issue.

It's worth asking Ebay Community Staff to add it to the list of members experiencing this.

We had similar reports from other users and a tech ticket is currently open and being worked on for a fix. I will add your account to the ticket and once there is further updates on it being resolved I will post back.

Is the "Show HTML code" box checked? That would cause what you are seeing:

At the very top of the "Description" box where I've highlighted it with a red arrow.

That is, unless you're listing using the app in which case I have no idea where it is.

Same problem for me seemed to start last week

You can highlight the whole description with the offending code

then cut

Then scroll down to the box in link below

Then paste 

and click remove html 

https://www.textfixer.com/html/remove-html-tags.php

then either amend your description there and paste it back into eBay or copy and paste it and amend on eBay
