An email to dave : blatant question

Hi dave, please accept I am posing the question to you to carry forward to the ebay team for them to answer, as high up as they can get it, where the decisions to do certain things on ebay are made. The question :

"how stupid do you think humanity is, that you slide the goalposts and insult peoples intelligence when you say "selling is free / buyers pay fees / cash on collection is not allowed" which basically means the same as it ever did, that neither buying or selling is free ?
To add :
Before this, buyers and sellers had to realise they are paying fees. They may not know it, but out of each transaction, buyers and sellers per deal, incurred fees. Now the goaldposts are moved, the same thing is still happening.

Please escalate that Dave. As you know, people are very bemused and even though it works out cheaper now, its still an insult. Very poor deal. And the postage thing seems to be a mess too.

This email is not personally at you Dave.

Hi @beyourb3st

I've escalated this to the leadership team to be reviewed as requested.

Thanks,

Dave

You don't seriously expect an answer do you?

Dave has done as you requested, he can't force anyone to answer your question.

To be frank the answer would probably be:

"We don't think humanity is stupid".

And where would that get you?

This actually reminds me of a scene in Band of Brothers. Think it was the first episode.

One of the troops asks the sergeant "why does the captain hate us"

The sergeant replied "he doesn't hate us, he just hates you".

That's the kind of reply I'd hope eBay give. At least it would be funny.

Dave has done as you requested, he can't force anyone to answer your question. And no one suggested anything different, even my tone in the message supports that notion.

To be frank the answer would probably be:

"We don't think humanity is stupid". Yet they have shown many times they simply couldn't care less. This is not negotiable. Says the guy just completing 72 hours in the equivalent of facebook jail.

And where would that get you? Irrelevant question as per getting a reply but for getting change, it makes no odds to me. I'm more concerned about the existing genuine customers, of which I am not. My listings are gone. I no longer shop here. If push comes to shove, I will dig my heels in. Because one life, even an ebay employee, is more important than any corporation.

But of all the knives clearly planted in peoples backs, it's a recurring pattern that you shoot the messenger. Like you work here and need to defend the corporate. Well, not like.

I wouldn't say anything but you guys want us to think butter wouldn't melt when the absolute opposite is true. I mean, look at the next guys response. smfh
