Account restricted but no messages from eBay why.

I have this restriction on my account but have no messages in my inbox about what action is needed to remove the restriction.

But i havent been given the opportunity to provide any documents or anything to appeal, just been waiting 8 days now.

All your recent sales are multiples of new items yet you are registered as a private seller.  These include food items which eBay stipulate that you must be a registered business to sell food on eBay.

These factors may have brought your account to the attention of eBay and they mask ask you to correctly register before allowing you to continue to sell.

That's understable, but currently im in a situation i cant get out of - as the only way is through that email, and ive contacted support multiple times but they just said wait for the email, once 48 hours, once 72 hours etc, and the biggest issue is my payouts, so do you know how i can get out of this situation?

eBay have caught you trading illegally on a private account that is why you are suspended!

eBay will need your National Insurance number and other trading details so they can give your sales details to HMRC next month for your self assessment. The time to register is BEFORE you get caught. Not wait until eBay force you to trade legally! 

Your payments may be held for up to 180 days as you failed to register correctly and legally to sell.

To be fair to OP, it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect Ebay to tell him why his account has been restricted and to spell out what he needs to do.

I have no issue with the suspension nor the reason, my issue is that i haven't been sent any email to appeal or do anything to get myself out of this situation, so do you know how i can get them to at least contact me with their official reason and what i could do about it because i have no info from them?

I dont mind changing the account but i dont think that will lift the suspension alone, they may need valid ID etc, but without the email i cant send anything, so do you know what my next steps should be?

Have you looked at eBay messages, or just looked at your email inbox?

You say that you haven't had an email, but there seems to be a problem with eBay emails at the moment.  Sellers' communication preferences have mysteriously been reset and many aren't getting emails.

Yeah checking every day for the last 8 days and my email inbox also hasnt gotten any emails from ebay for weeks, do you know if theres any solution or if its simply not been sent?

From the Seller Hub Overview, select 'Site Preferences > Account Preferences > Communication Preferences'

In the 'Seller > Seller Performance Notifications' section, make sure the flag is set to 'On' for:

     Recommendations to revise instantly

     Notifications on items or settings that do not comply with eBay policy

     Listing improvement recommendations

     Notifications on items with missing item specifics

     Recommendations to improve your items and sales

However, I think this will only affect message from the time the flag was set so, if there were any messages relating to the first two subjects on the list above, you may still be none the wiser.

Also, check the 'Payment Information' section to ensure that the card and bank account numbers are correct and that cards have not expired.

Finally, go through the remaining sections and check that the flag is 'On' for any other notification you want.

If by the time you read this reply you have tried all of the options that have been suggested in the preceding posts and none of the advice has ended up resolving the problem, then I would suggest contacting eBay Customer Service about the matter and speaking to somebody directly about the problem.  To contact eBay Customer Services click on the following link:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid and a new page should load up.  Click on the blue button to request a call from somebody from eBay and you should receive a phone call from an eBay representative.  The lines are open from 8:00am to 10:00pm Monday to Friday and from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.  However, your best option is to request a call as soon as the lines open in the morning, as that way you're more likely to receive a phone call from an eBay representative based in Ireland.

Once you receive a call from eBay explain what has gone wrong.  Ask them why a restriction has been placed upon your account and then ask them what information they require from you in order for the restriction upon your account to be relinquished.  Unfortunately, given the fact that we are dealing with eBay here there is no guarantee that this course of action will be successful, but if you don't at least try to fight your corner then you stand no chance whatsoever of being able to convince eBay to do away with the restriction currently in place on your account.

the irish are very helpfull and will try to resolve your issue

Hi, thanks for the response, just wanted to update that I tried this a couple of days ago and they told me to wait a few days for the email since now they've put it on high priority, but still no email so I called again today and it's the same talk - wait for the email, it's on high priority, so that's the update now, I don't know if i can do anything else.

You still haven't upgraded your account, is something in the system stopping you?
