Underneath it saying "We couldn't process this payment", it then says "We let the buyer know and asked them to update their payment method before the time expires".
So how long has the buyer got to pay for the item before the time expires?
And what happens after that? It's not even showing the item in the list of items I've sold so can't see how to leave Negative Feedback for the buyer for non-payment.
I have contacted the buyer but so far have not received any communication from him after first contacting him 6th February.
I have had things like this happen before where I have sold items but items haven't been paid for and it's usually because the buyer's account doesn't appear to have been active for several months or a few years so often made me wonder if the accounts have been hacked and the account holder has no idea that their account has purchased an item from me.
But this member's account looks like it's been more recently active.
So either the buyer is a complete t*** and is purchasing items from me and others without having any intention to pay for them by not updating their payment method and then completely ignoring my message requests for payment or maybe his account has also been more recently hacked.
Can anyone explain this?
Thanks.

It would be really strange if, one time, ebay cs actually told the truth but I guess it would probably be because they had got confused and told the truth by accident 🤣
This motto has always steered me right regarding ebay cs: you can always tell when cs are lying, their lips move.

I can imagine that listings become visible instantly to people who browse categories. People who have set alerts may also get early warning. However general searches may take longer to work on newly listed items. If I remember, I'll test this the next time I put a listing up.
