Hi, I have accepted a couple of offers but the sale dosnt happen, ie item dosnt move to sold list (its still shown as active)? The buyer of one item has messaged me to chase as they also knew I had accepted but it wasnt on their purchases so I had to relist & she did process again (it worked!). Same thing has just occured two days later on a different item - am I going mad? Has anyone else experienced this over last few days?

Hi *violet.sky*, thanks for your post.
If you confirm the item number, we can look into this for you to see what's happening.
Thank you,
Marco

This is happening to me too! I've lost out on several sales over the past month or so!

There is another thread discussing something similar to this here:
It appears to be a new procedure which eBay are currently trialling whereby the items aren't deemed sold, and remain available for others to buy, until the buyer actually pays for them.
The items are placed into the buyer's basket rather than their purchases and are shown to sellers as pending orders. If the buyer doesn't pay within 24 hours then they are automatically cancelled.

I had this on another account and lost the sale. They need to change this back. It's difficult enough to sell things here already. I'm quite happy to have eccepted offers in my sold items even if the buyer does not pay for a few days. Now accepted offers are lost sales if the buyer does not pay within 24 hours. What a joke.

This has happened to me twice in the last 24 hours.

I've had two offers in the last 24 hours that I accepted and no sale is happening.

You've probablly been opted into an ' immediate payment' required on accepting an offer.
All sellers were opted into this, you can opt out if you wish, go to your Site Preferences link below, then to Buyers >> Manage Buyers who can buy from you, at the bottom of the page, this will appear

I don't think this is connected to the 'Immediate payment' requirement. The sale would go through automatically once the offer was accepted if that was the case.
It's more likely to be the new procedure whereby the items aren't deemed sold, and remain available for others to buy, until the buyer actually pays for them.
The items are placed into the buyer's basket rather than their purchases and are shown to sellers as pending orders. If the buyer doesn't pay within 24 hours then they are automatically cancelled.

Hi, this has just happened to me too. I've accepted a best offer, the item is still showing as active, and the transaction is pending. I cannot contact the buyer either. I've contacted eBay and they forward the problem IT department. So frustrating.

Yes, that's the it works now, the item remains available for others to buy until the buyer actually pays for it. If the buyer doesn't pay within 24 hours then the offer is automatically cancelled.
You should still be able to message the buyer though.

Yes, this happened last weekend. I contacted CS who said it was normal. I knew it wasn't so had to push back and got put through to someone else who at least checked properly. I could see the acceptance stuck in pending, she couldn't. I couldn't contact buyer either. Problem was passed to someone technical and cleared after a few days. Never heard anymore though. Item was still for sales throughout.

If this is a new procedure it is not inline with basic English law that once an offer has been accepted it becomes an agreement.
