A question about 'Time away' and simple delivery

As we are now seeing the usual issues with late deliveries at this point, I am taking it as a sign to opt for time away. Plus, despite what eBay says on my listings, I definitely cannot guarantee anything purchased arrives before Christmas. I will use the option that still allows for item sales but annoyingly, it can only be set for two weeks, so I'll have to wait a couple more days if I want it to end automatically at the start of January.

I am on simple delivery. Does anyone know, if I make sale during this 14 days period and decided to print a label and send the item out, will the 'time away' be cut short ? I am only asking because last year, before simple delivery, I made the mistake of marking an item I had packaged as dispatched and 'time away' was automatically ended. Meaning all outstanding orders then had to be sent out immediately as the dispatch dates were changed. There was a lot of swearing that day, lol. I figure, someone must have some experience with this in the past few months.

Thanks in advance

To be honest, there is still so much uncertainty how SD works 100% with changes happening constantly, that I wouldn't like to say how Time Away works now, and would not advise asking CS either!

To be sure , personally I would end all items,  and just relist when you wish.  Unsold items remain for 60 days in your My eBay Selling and for a maximum of 90 days if you're on the Seller Hub.

At least there's peace of mind there , that no items can be seen,  no items can be sold.
