A 'Petition'

In one particular thread about 'Simple Delivery' which I've been active in over the past few days, the suggestion has been made that someone - ie., me, an eBay member of 25 years - should start a petition.

With seemingly thousands of posts in numerous threads from members extremely displeased with both SD and the closely-associated BPF - which effectively replaced the 'Sellers Fee' that we all used to pay - perhaps it may be an idea to consolidate the strength of feeling in one place?

So, here it is - the closest we can likely get to an actual petition on this board - and please, keep it simple.

If you object to the mandatory implementation of 'Simple Delivery' and would like it either scrapped altogether, or made optional so those who wish to can use it - please simply post:

Scrap SD

or

Make SD Optional

And as the 'Buyer Protection Fee' is having negative impacts on us as sellers (and buyers, which many of us are too), and would like eBay to revert to the old 'Seller Fees' system (none of us can reasonably expect this platform to be run for free) then please simply post:

BPF - Revert to Seller Fees

Unless you only wish to register an opinion on one or the other, I don't see any reason why both SD and BPF cannot be included in single posts.

Maybe, if enough of us make our voices heard in one place, so the powers-that-be can see clearly, they might - just might - listen. Over to you.

Re: A 'Petition'

No, they do not reply,  as I said in my comment.   You can also click on "How this company uses Trustpilot" and that gives you lots of interesting information and graphics.   As well as how many negative reviews have been replied to (big fat zero!),  it tells you how many reviews have been made in the last 12 months (3224) and what percentage of reviews are 1 /2/3/4/5 stars.  Total reviews 19763.  Currently 93% at 1 star.  Although a 0 star option would have been preferred by many, it seems, when reading through them!!  It seems that private sellers have a lot more to be concerned about these days than just Simple Delivery.

Re: A 'Petition'

I hardly think eBay are alone in not responding to trustpilot reviews. A quick search suggests most similar size companies don’t respond. It says Argos do, but I can’t see that they have done for a while.

that doesn’t make it right and clearly the sentiment of the reviews is negative (though again, many companies have a similar rating on trustpilot. In fact you tend to find those with a positive rating are those companies who are proactive with a paid trustpilot account where they can request customers leave reviews)

Re: A 'Petition'

Revert to Seller Fees

eBay selling has been ruined by these changes for normal sellers.

However, the fact they are completely deaf to what's going on in places like this forum suggests that this is precisely what eBay wants.  i.e. they want to lose individual sellers' business so they can focus on big bucks business sellers instead.

With these changes, eBay have turned their back on the values that built their business and the huge community of people who made them a success.

@jonatjonatjonat

Yes, many companies have a lousy rating on TrustPilot.  It might seem inevitable, satisfied customers are just... well, satisfied.  Not spending time writing reviews.

You prompted me to investigate.  Which companies do I REALLY like and respect, will happily recommend to anyone?  Precious few, of course.  My top two would be First Direct bank and Zen Internet.  Both have really clued up phone support, and their service is so good that I rarely need to contact them.  Checking...  well well, fancy that.  Both have a 4.5 rating.

Hell will freeze over before ebay starts climbing the charts.  Unless there's a massive change from the top down.
