Who knows what that’s for? I’m not sure what it’s supposed to clarify,it’s not clear but maybe it’s just me

Does mean much to me either, the only update I want to see is that simple delivery is going to be optional.

Yes,might might be a message to say we will have optional custom postage and you can chose between letter and large letter if your items are under 100;g etc lol
just say it then
It has to do with custom postage though for sure because letters arent tracked at all so don’t fall in the SD remit at all

It still doesn't clarify one aspect of this which really needs clarifying.
Will large letter items weighing under 100g, and purchased for under £10 (including BPF) be eligible for exemption from SD?
It's a simple question which has been asked many times on here but has never been credibly answered.
I have my own theory, as do many posters, but please don't respond to this as if you know 100%, unless you can point to something in black and white from eBay confirming it, one way or the other.

It doesn't clarify anything for buyers or sellers as they claim, and they say these changes don't apply to simple delivery. When I have selected postage for LL size items, sometimes I have clicked on 2nd class instead of 2nd Class Letter/Large Letter. It doesn't make any difference to me, the buyer, the PO or RM. 2nd class is 2nd class.
It looks to me as though they want sellers to specify whether they are sending a letter size or large letter size item so that when they force everyone onto SD, they know which items are exempt. I think this makes it clear that LL size items will have to be sent using SD. I can't see any other explanation for this 'clarification'.

The problem is that it is a complete non-clarification, as if it was deliberately intended to be as vague as possible (surely not?)
I agree with you I think LLs will be forced onto SD, but we haven't had 100% confirmation yet.
Either they are testing the water, to see what the reaction is to all this, or they just don't want to dump more misery on people right now, and risk losing even more sellers (many of whom are also buyers).

1) Yes it does.
2) Just the opposite. It clearly shows that under 100g LL will be exempt from SD.
From the page: "Live listings and re-listed items will continue to use the “Letter/Large Letter” service until they are revised, so please ensure you have the correct service selected on your listings to ensure the delivery estimates are accurate for your buyers. This change will not apply when using Simple Delivery."
This surely means they are not going to force current listings into SD unless we revise.
That was a worry for many people on here. It means we will have an option to choose postage for current listings.

Sadly, you have missed a large part of the point of that message from eBay.
They are separating their (eBay's) letter/large letter category to bring it into line with RM's. So there will be separate categories for letters and large letters.
Nowhere does it state whether or not LLs will be able to be exempted from SD. (although it also doesn't say that they won't)
Your post is simply adding to the uncertainty. Certainly, it's what users want to hear, but it has certainly NOT been confirmed.

By implication it makes things clearer.

Only if that's what you WANT it to mean.
If you've been around eBay for any length of time, you'll know you cannot rely on "implication".
This is exactly why I stipulated in my post No.5, that I only wanted answers from people who know 100%. "Implication" and wishful thinking are no help at all.

I think all they're saying is that if we don't revise them, then letter size items will also have to be sent using SD. Otherwise, what is the purpose of making different categories for letter and large letter? If they were all going to be exempt from SD, then they could just be left as one category.
