hello every one I have read the new postage simple delivery for small private sellers like me and I am very concerned its going to be ebay who decides what courier they think I should use, and even more concerned the buyer will choose .this is hermes evri the worst couriers I have never known, I am selling my antique dolls and send them the quickest and safe with my choosen courier .fully insured and next day delivery which I have done with my items for over 17 yrs. I charge my buyers a set amount but if my box and packing goes over I pay the extra for peace of mind. and the thought of them being sent via hermes evri scares me and I would not trust them with a teddy bear, ebay must let me choose my own courier but I am told I have no choice, antiques no matter what must be sent in a manner they deserve and the simple delivery is not . simple delivery is just that for clothes shoes and not breakable .not for antiques and items of great value, I have had my dolls for over 50 years and simple delivery is not going to happen, I do not want to leave ebay but I will take my antiques some where else, so many great sellers have gone, but ebay does not take the time to ask why. ebay must look after the private sellers like me but I doubt it .the big boys are more important,

Not that I know of but will check
even so why are eBay charging 50p more for 2nd class both on non and in opted simple delivery
or is it a typo on the options and when you pay it’s only 3.25
I don’t know because I’ve never bought it and had confirmation of the charge

I don’t understand why eBay with their “simple” you can say that again sigh “delivery” are going from choice of multiple carriers to just TWO and if you can’t do evri that means no choice …just royal mail
positively barmy

It’s appeared for me too now when I try create new listing
i have only Royal Mail enabled, not evri (there are no other choices either)
problem is with simple delivery there doesn’t seem to be a Royal Mail 48 tracked option
it says prices will show to the buyer starting at 3.75
tracked 48 is 3.39 (online)
unless eBay are going to be charging post office prices
?

Any item listed that exceeds £20 price should negate simple delivery at the listing stage. Evri only cover £20 I think and Royal Mail 2nd class is the same cover. From £3.75 is a rip off starting point. I hope we can continue to opt out.

Evri is probably one of the worst delivery firms in all of the UK, Royal Mail is far faster and doesn't charge for remote areas and tracking works fine for 24,48 etc they do offer services where tracking only shows when delivery is attempted.
Evri is well known for losing & damaging parcels and then finding one of a million reasons why they shouldn't pay you out. The only time I will ever use Evri is when I need to send something longer than standard Yodel allows. Yodel Direct also has a forever lasting 10% off under 1kg costs £2.42 often deliver in 2 days & rarely if ever lose/damage parcels.

You can just bypass Simple delivery by selecting custom. I don't think they are stupid enough to force this issue. Adding buyer fees is already pretty unpopular forcing the use of simple delivery would really be dicing with the share price given their weak reporting as of late. It also appears they are taking on some responsibility regarding INR given -
There are several benefits to using Simple Delivery, including:
If they force people to use a certain delivery network and then INR's start happening its a storm waiting to happen. I have no interest in using Evri the worst provider to ever have existed which previously was only made worse by Packlink with their endless list of "we don't have to pay if we break or lose x". I do not think this gamble is going to pay off for eBay long term. Buyers will not like paying to buy and sellers won't like being pressured to use sub par services and more importantly not fit for purpose Evri.

Benefits of simple delivery they say
“No transaction fees on postage”
have to laugh
hardly a benefit seeing as there were no transaction fees before
maybe business sellers is different though?
sorry to butt in

I'm not a fan of the changes. I knew something was coming they were never going to remove seller fees without something in the pipeline. To be honest I expected that they would push people into registering as a business as they still pay fees. Frankly I would have rather split the fees buyers currently pay and not have additional rubbish like simple delivery forced onto me and my buyers.
I don't know if eBay thought shifting fees onto buyers would somehow make sellers happier about all siding with buyers regardless of context and the situation. It isn't surprising they chose Evri but it really isn't a wise decision. It would be different if Evri was hitting it out of the park and everyone chose them because they were good. I've seen quite a few bad businesses through my times restoring, fixing & cleaning/selling tools but no courier quite tops Evri. I swear to god they managed to lose (or more likely steal) a 6ft brass vase xD
As far as I'm aware business sellers pay fees, can probably choose simple delivery but not have it forced on them. It's clear eBay is pushing the no fees for sellers while leaving out the hellscape they have created in its wake.
