I have just sold an item which is to be collected in person but my buyer has been sent a huge invoice as he is in Ireland and I use Global Shipping. As I'm in Northern Ireland and the item is being collected (and there is no duty payable between the north and south of Ireland), he is very unhappy. I seem unable to get eBay to refund their charges

Not sure if they will display collection-only listings in the UK to people in the EU
It's that old "forgetting the UK has a land border with the EU" thing again....

If it's the violin it has postage on there. It's probably simpler to cancel the transaction and relist as collection only, no postage. Click on the dropdown menu arrow alongside the item on your orders page and select Cancel order > Buyer asked to cancel.

My buyer cancelled the transaction after paying (because he wants to collect in person). He still wants the item but seems to be blocked from seeing the relisting. He has all details including the number. Is this normal policy? We seem to be digging a deeper and deeper hole trying to resolve this. It should have been simple just to remove the huge Global Shipping postage fee. Maybe I should remove Global Shipping from my listings as being in Northern Ireland, I can ship to EU countries without incurring duty. Can I use GS just for countries outside the EU?
