Why are eBay using Evri?

A few months ago, I ordered a book. Evri claimed no one was at home. This was untrue. The item got returned to the seller.  He re-sent with the book using Royal Mail, and the book was thin and could go through the letter box. So how can Evri make false claims.

On Saturday, Evri said delivery would be between 1pm and 3pm, then a few minutes later they changed it to 12.30pm to 2.30pm. No one should up at those times.

Then at 9.23pm received an eBay message, that they attempted delivery, it was completely false, as no one rang the doorbell. I took a photo of my outside door, at 9.30pm,  to prove at home!

Re: Why are eBay using Evri?

I have a lovely Evri delivery person, but I too was once home all day, then get a message ' attempted delivery', but no ringing of a doorbell.

Next day my Evri person arrived I asked if they were at my address yesterday for the ' attempted' delivery,  yep and their explanation was,  a removal van was blocking our road ( we live down a single track road,  and yes one of the neighbours is moving.  They waited as long as they could and there is no other option but to mark as attempted delivery with a then message , do I wish the item delivered the next day.

Posties / Evri / couriers have limited options for explanations on their devices, when deliveries cannot be completed , we often hear here, when RM says item left in porch, and recipient claims there is no porch,  but there is no other description to select , when an item is left outside the property.

Evri are by no means faultless,  but I do believe it's mostly to do with luck,  luck that you do,  or do not have,  a good courier delivery person!

If you have many failings with  Evri,  before buying you can always ask the seller to de select Evri from their listing,  they can do this,  and use RM.

Re: Why are eBay using Evri?

It really does appear to be a postcode lottery with Evri.

i have no issues with deliveries, our Evri local courier is great. That being said, never had an issue with any of the simple deliveries that have gone by Evri either.

Re: Why are eBay using Evri?

I agree its a total lottery with Evri.   The other day i was in the kitchen and immediately went to the front door.   Within the 20 seconds it took me to get there..................2 packages left propped against the front step and in full view of anyone passing and the evri driver was gone.
