First time seeing it too. According to an online search this means they have your parcel but haven't scanned it into the network. It is expected to be delivered normally after a temporary hold. Presumably this is due to a high volume of parcels.
Simple delivery in some ways is good but I do wish the seller could have the option of doing 24hr tracked delivery which is how I like to send some of my items. Would NEVER use evri
This year will be an interesting test of Royal Mail with the new Simple Delivery system. I suspect that RM will treat T48 the way they have treated 2nd Class in previous years, which means setting T48 parcels aside during busy periods until they clear the logjam of Guaranteed, Signed and T24 deliveries. Hopefully other Sellers will let us know if they start seeing this strange message more often!
If you did not lose the simple delivery guarantee i would arrange my own collection at 24hr but the why should I lose out on paying for a collection because ebay don't give you the option
