Strange situation with GSP, need advice

I live in Ireland and bought a digital Camera from the UK. The seller used GSP to post to me which meant that at checkout which means I payed international postage as well as the duties and taxes payable for European shipments.

The item reached 'Lichfield, Staffordshire, UK' Which is the global shipping center and after a delay it was marked as 'Exception - Return to Sender'.  I contacted the Seller and he says he has the product back now but both he and I do not know why it was returned and also I do not know how to proceed from here.

How do I get my Money back? or even how do I get my duties and taxes I paid back incase the seller wants to post the camera through normal post. As the item never left the UK these duties and taxes have not been sent to Ireland yet.

It is a strange situation and I hope someone has a suggestion.

Highly unusual for an item sent via the GSP to be returned to sender and strange that no reason was provided.  Did the seller remember to put the GSP reference number on the parcel?

I think the best way forward would be to open an 'Item not received' request so that the seller can refund you.  As it was a GSP item the international postage and customs fees will automatically be refunded by eBay at the same time.  The seller can then relist it, without the GSP if necessary, for you to buy again.

Just to update, We never found out why the camera got returned, but I requested a refund through Ebay and got all my money and fees back.
