Simple delivery

Hi all, Is there any way we can opt out of this simple delivery option, as far as l can see this is just a money making exercise for ebay an a disaster for  sellers.

Sorry! Unless you still have custom postage you have to use Stupid delivery.

The only other option to take like many are doing in increasing numbers is to dump Ebay..

ebays prices are far higher that Vintedl.  Their small parcel with evri is 2.39, and if you buy a few items it is the same price.

It's a disaster for some Sellers, chiefly those who tend to sell small, low-value items that they'd be happy to risk sending un-tracked, plus anybody wanting to sell something that's too big for either RM or Evri.

Personally it suits me better than the old system.

By the way, the £2.39 Evri price on Vinted is only for delivery to a parcel shop so isn't much good for people who don't have a local one.  They also display a "From..." postage price and you only find out the real cost when you've clicked to buy something.

Cacas vendit.

It's utter garbage and speaks to the contempt eBay holds its sellers in. After 30 years on eBay, I'm done. Let this binfire burn away to nothing, just like it deserves.

You can opt out for items which are all of the below:

£10 item price and under,

letter or large letter sized,

100g and under,

in certain subcategories.

You cannot use Simple Delivery on prohibited items; nor items above the maximum weight nor size; nor above £750.

Ebay peaked around 2016-2018. Since then, it has been losing both sellers and buyers. I cannot understand the decisions they continue to make. Each is like an act of self-harm.

1. Buyers are more likely to purchase if they see a single price. E.g £5 instead of £2 plus a £1 and £2 postage. The price might be the same, but psychology comes into play. It's the same reason some see £4.99 as so much of a bargain compared to £5. So the BPF dissuades buyers and harms sellers. Do eBay not have experts to advise them?
2. They stifle growth. An unlimited eBay business plan is going to set you back more than £5,000 for the year. On Amazon? Around £240. Ebay does not have the traffic (at least in the UK) to justify these fees.
3 Simple Delivery is anything but. Those increased fees have to be absorbed by sellers or buyers. Again, the price increases dissuade buyers and might not make the effort worth it for sellers.

Ebay, why not encourage growth? Amazon does it. Amazon has realised that if sellers make money, Amazon makes money.

I've been on both sides of the private/business seller thing. Both are punished by eBay. ENCOURAGE GROWTH!
