Simple delivery

I detest the way that now it’s obligatory to use eBay’s choice of postage

it’s not a real issue if selling simple things that go in a Jiffy bag or similar and it’s easy to guess the weight.
but for large heavy items 2-9kg. It’s not always known what the weight will be.

I don’t wrap and weigh my parcels til after payment is received (I offer free postage on near enough everything I sell). Therefore a parcel that I think will be under 2kg might be 3+kg after all the protective packaging is added.

I’m baffled as to why eBay keep making things harder to use.

Vinted  is getting more and more of the things I want to sell.
less hassle there

When you're listing an item, providing you leave it on ebay's recommended size/weight, it shouldn't matter if the package exceeds the label limit, but it must remain within the maximum size/weight that the courier accepts.

There are some post office employees who are unaware of this and may not want to accept the package. You should show them the link and educate them about the contract ebay has with the royal mail for simple delivery labels.
