Simple delivery

Wow are eBay trying to ruin their own company? Simple Delivery my eye the wonderful powers that be have taken a unilateral decision have given no due consideration to their private seller base, many are housebound or don't drive, many don's want collections, many live rural and many won't use a large percentage of the mailing services out there due to bad customer service - we know because we deal with them daily...many are absolute cowboys I've experienced damaged and broken items, items thrown over fences, into gardens, left roadside and dumped over a neighbour's fence a good 500 metres away from my home....I've always dealt with royal mail they deliver everywhere unlike Evri and i like to use signed for option with RM as that gives me security knowing what has happened to my parcel - not all buyers are honest...Large letter option helps with smaller items like jewelry.. This system is an utter joke typical corporate US business model. Its all about the dollar not the customer...the talk to the hand customer service response is just a bully boy tactic to make everyone conform...surprise surprise we don't all fit in your boxes........

Simple delivery

In a countryside situation similar to yours, I experienced all these delivery failings and more from a company I will call *loud shout*. Luckily Royal Mail comes through, and often rural Posties go out of their way to be extra helpful. Do you know you can opt to use only RM simple delivery? That you can book RM home collections? And that your Postie can accept the odd parcel at their discretion even without a Collection booked?

As for the option to use Custom Postage for RM 2nd Class Large Letter items, I flagged up the frequent lack of this option. eBay said they are aware of this glitch and are 'working on it'.

Simple delivery

Everything I'd sold since the commencement of Simple Delivery has been collected from my house my Royal Mail.  So there's no problems for the house-bound, non-drivers or people without a local Post Office or Evri drop-off point.

For people who don't want collections they can still take things to a Post Office or Evri drop-off point.

Anybody who falls into both groups would be stuffed under the old system as well as the new.

As for cowboy couriers damaging or losing things, under Simple Delivery that's e-Bay's problem not the Sellers.  Things are also covered up to £750, which is more than carriers offer at similar prices and there are far fewer exclusions.
