Simple Delivery

Is there a problem with simple delivery at the moment does any on know.

Just did a new listing and it did not go straight to simple delivery was letting me choose my own putting in weight and dimensions.

Maybe they have seen the light  was just getting used to it as well!

Nooo, don't say this is happening again!

Yesterday, there was a site issue whereby Simple Delivery was not available, only Custom postage,  and no, we haven't been released from SD !

Let's hope this is a temp glitch and you'll be able to add the correct details soon.

Or,  did you know some categories are now exempt,  if the cost is below £20 letter,  large letter and 100g or under.  Are you trying to list one that fits those T & C 's. ?

No it is over £20 and about 2kg.

The message said "simple delivery is not available for this listing" or words to that effect.

Will go in and check later to see if it is back. 

Why did they try and fix something that was not broken!!

It was very broken yesterday many affected All Day.

With no reports,  yours is the first,  coming in today,  sounded like it was fixed ? 🤔

Let's hope this is temporary.

Just gone in and rechecked not changed on its own accord or letting me do it so kaput!

As I say will check later i assume it will change at some  point when its fixed

I had a problem yesterday then it seamed to fix last night, but this morning at about 9.30 am it was not working again but by 11 am it was working again. Now it not working again 😠

Lets hope they can fix the issue and get it to work.

Yes I have just checked the two I did this morning and it is still not giving the choice to do simple delivery.

Will it automatically change as I know the wrong weight will get picked  by them.

The only good thing about simple delivery is that if it gets lost or damaged ebay pays 😀

I would not rely on it automatically changing, you might be best to keep checking them and manually changing them.

There still seems to be an issue with simple delivery  where is is not giving  simple delivery option or it has not changed  itself.

Don't want to end and relist as I have watchers on them. 

What I would like to know is if it gets lost or damaged will ebay still pay out after all it is an ebay issue not something we have decided to do off our own backs so why should we be penalised for their system not working. After all we were being forced into using it in the first place so if their system not working then they should still honour  there side of the contract. 

To me this is a good and valid point 

Any thoughts?

I would not rely on eBay paying out if it gets lost or damaged as depending on who you speak to making trying to make claim, they may argue it should not have been listed if their system does not work.

Was just wondering how many of you have stopped listing while this is just spent over half an hour on chat and the do not seem to know when it will be back up.

Did say to them if they are going to force us to use simple delivery then they need to make sure it works or revert back to the old way when we had a choice m.

Said to them the only good thing about simple delivery was if something got lost or damaged tge seller would not have the hassle of sorting out a claim with royal mail or whoever

I have come up with some testing.

If I do anything that relates to jewellery it will not give me the simple delivery choice.

I have done dummy drafts in different categories ie lego dressing gown dictionary etc and they all give you the simple delivery option but if I o a draft for a watch say no simple delivery.  Is it to do with that category?

I m going to ask ebay to see what they say.

Yes, jewellery isn't allowed to be sent with Simple Delivery:

Restricted or prohibited items

The following items aren't allowed to be posted with Simple Delivery:

• Valuables, such as jewellery, watches, and precious metals, including, but not limited to, jewels, watches, gems, precious metals, real pearls, silver, gold

This was an issue from our end, if you are still seeing this issue, please let me know and I'll take a further look. However, to confirm the above, please note that jewellery isn't allowed to be sent with Simple Delivery, so if you are trying to list that kind of item, you might not be able to do so with Simple Delivery.
