Hi
I may be getting a bit twitchy too early but did my first so called "simple delivery" sale.
Parcel got collected on on Thursday scanned by postie using simple delivery label i printed off. All the other items I have sold have arrived within 48 hours which is what I always use. I have never had a parcel take longer that 48 hours with royal mail and my first simple delivery seems to be a lot slower. This should have got there on Saturday. It appears to be at the local depot to the buyer but I am surprised that there is nothing saying it is out for delivery yet which is making me nervous.
If the parcel does not get delivered and the buyer has to be refunded who refunds them under this simple delivery fiasco.
Will it be ebay or will I have to refund them and lose out on the money from the sale and the item.
I have to say that the initial tracking to say it was a local depot took a lot longer to update then usual.
Anyone else had similar issues.
Thanks

Royal Mail Tracking and eBay's tracking is not always in sync, but it's the RM one that matters check it online on their Track & Trace.
If it doesn't update on eBay within a reasonable time contact eBay Customer Services with that tracking as it does release payouts sooner.
If an item is lost under SD, eBay cover that cost of the refund.

I am wondering why the parcel is at Coventry PFW National Hub and I am wondering if this is why it has not been delivered in it normal time scale.
All parcels I do are sent 48hr tracked service and always get delivered 2 days after collection eg collected Monday delivered Wednesday .
I am curious as to why it's gone to PFW Coventry size was in the medium size although not that big but had to go as 10kg on simple delivery as they have nothing in between parcel only we

No idea, and I doubt Customer Services would know especially if you called and the Philippine call centre answered.
You 'll just have to wait and hope it carries on its journey soon.
Don't worry too soon, a buyer will soon let you know if an item is not received, and now under Simple Delivery, eBay pay the cost of loss here.

Ok thanks
I wonder if this would have happened if I had arranged this myself?! Bet the simple delivery plastered over the label didn't help😾 lol
Hate having the control taken away from me as to how I send things.
Still will give it an couple of tries and see what happens.

Royal Mail and Parcelforce are merging into one operation, this process started at the beginning of June and is due to complete mid-August, it seems to be a phased operation and Parcelforce do warn that there maybe some problems with tracking etc. until the systems are fully aligned.
The reason your parcel is being delayed at PFW Coventry is possibly because at the moment PF do not offer Saturday delivery as standard, so hopefully you should see it move from Coventry to the buyer's local depot to be delivered on Monday.

It'll odds-on be delivered on Monday. The majority of Tracked 48 items that I send and receive do indeed arrive in two days but they have been known to take longer. Royal Mail state that the 48 (or 24) hour thing isn't guaranteed.
If it doesn't arrive at all e-Bay compensate the Buyer rather than you.

But what annoys me is that i will probably end up with a late delivery mark even though it was sent the next day after being purchased and it is through no fault of mine.
I still say if I had arranged this myself through royal mail like I always used to till this so called "simple delivery " was made mandatory it would have been there Saturday as it would not have had market place whatever slapped on the label.
But we will see. I am going to give it another couple of goes and see what happens but I may consider de listing everything and take a trip to the charity shop.
With all the changes they are making and they are making things more and more difficult it does not seem worth the hassle.

With Simple Delivery as soon as you hand something to a postman or in at a Post Office or Evri drop-off point it ceases to be your problem. If it's lost or damaged e-Bay compensate the Buyer. You don't get a black mark for late delivery provided you sent it on time, which you did.
