Simple Delivery is now the default setting but it is possible to opt out of Simple Delivery by selecting "Switch to Advance Options". Why is Ebay pushing this?
Simple, Ebay gets a discount on the postage and creams off some of the cost the buyer pays. The seller gets nothing to cover packaging and other costs like driving to the post office because home collection is not offered with Simple delivery. My advice is OPT OUT OF SIMPLE DELIVERY

Hi there,
I think I saw you posting a message on the Forum about a Survey about a Survey but can not now find it. If that was you, can you send me a copy to view your message again.

Though if the opinion is 30 sales a year means you need an ebay business account regardless of what you are selling - the opinion is very much wrong.

not me sorry.

yes...30 is not many items, I'm not sure how the number was decided on. Someone selling baby clothes to buy more baby clothes will easily sell more than 30 items. Seems a lot of "paperwork" created for HMRC

Simple delivery is mandatory now when you relist! You're right - it is just a way for ebay to make money.
Some items I prefer to send by Royal Mail as they pay compensation for breakages - and I use the Medui=ium Parcel rate as that leaves room for extra packaging. Simple Delivery takes no account of that!

Simple delivery is not the answer or at least not in the current form. I totally agree with allowing only tracked services, big thumbs up on that.
Delivery is not always "simple".
I am selling a set of champagne flutes I will never in my life send them with EVRI in the UK, these glasses better rot on my shelf, I break them myself and bin them before using Evri, matter affect i wouldn't send anything with Evri. Try calling them when you package didn't make it or is shattered to piece or it was multiple packages and they delivered only one but marked all as delivered, try get a hold of someone at Evri, please try!
The problem is the casual eBayer who mostly only purchase on here might not be familiar with selling issues and of course they will choose the cheaper option always, i get it, but it doesn't work unfortunately for everything.
Maybe i have misread something, how did it work for such a long time? and now not anymore? Quite disappointed eBay went this direction, it is "insanity", hopefully will be corrected to a better solution.
Give us the option to chose from all the tracked deliveries, no option at all is really catastrophic, commercial suicide.
Is eBay implying that once the item is dispatched and marked by either Evri or Royal mail the seller has not more responsibilities? So item doesn't make it or arrives damaged, the buyer has to go to courier and also courier will give refunds to the buyer? The seller has no more responsibilities? If that is the case maybe it works in our favor. If is not the case, if a seller is not covered it means sellers should be allowed to chose courier.
Maybe I am seeing things wrong, anyone want to chime in please, it is possible that I have misunderstood something.

simple delivery can be set to medium parcel.

thought one of the problems for you was not being able to do medium parcels. but if you don't want to use then up to you.
I'm reluctantly using - it has settled down a bit and the Royal Mail only prices have reduced, Evri drop off too far away from me. Actually small parcel is cheaper with SD than bought through RM, large letter is 2p more expensive. Obviously if you want to offer untracked, it is more expensive.
The "buyer protection" is more objectionable...as a buyer I don't really want it!

Advanced options seems to have disappeared now. I now have to charge customers more for their postage than before, also have to drive to use Evri, instead of walking 50 yards to the Yodel shop. The problem with big organisitations is that they can never admit they have got it wrong.

You don't. I was surprised to find that was possible, but it went a couple of days ago.

yes but what letter size ? They don't say if it is up to large letter or any details.

Well you have misunderstood something', it is 'matter of fact', not 'matter affect' 🙂

letter size, not large letter

how do you OPT OUT of simple delivery, they say it is the only option as of 6th August, at the moment I can use custom delivery option, (but even that reverts to simple sometimes!) I do not want to use Simple delivery as I live remotely and need to have them collected by Royal Mail, also as you state we get nothing for the packaging!!
