Simple Delivery not use prepaid can you enter own tracking?

I see in Simple Delivery article it says "If you decide not to use the prepaid label, you'll need to purchase your own label instead at your own cost".

So if I do that can I enter the tracking details of the service I have purchased i.e Royal Mail Special Delivery like I do now and when delivered will it most importantly satisfy any claims of non receipt and secondly release  payment for the item to me?

If so maybe willing to do that even though I realise ebay will pocket the SD postage fee.

At the moment you can add a new tracking to the order by going to the Order Details > Postage > dropdown menu (beside track package) > Add Tracking > + Additional Tracking Number.

No, you cannot add a different tracking number if you have not purchased a label through SD.

there is nothing there in the drop down menu now SD is in force.

It's simple, eBay force you to buy there label and make a profit from postage regarding the deals they have with Evri and RM.

Can nobody work out what eBay is doing?

Pour a drink then sit and think!!!

Bless all

Scott

If you do not use the simple delivery label and add your own tracking, the buyer will be refunded the postage they paid to eBay for the label.

Please understand, I will help you if you want.

You cannot add your own tracking number if not using SD

I can spell it out for you if you want, sounds like you don't "get it"

But you can do it, and I have. Print the prepaid label from SD.
Do NOT USE it.
Get your own label and put it on parcel.
As you have opened/printed the prepaid label, it will allow you to enter the new tracking details on the View Order Page.

But the Prepaid label is already paid ..that means YOU have to pay again same delivery

That is correct, however if you add to your item description that the buyer WILL get refunded for their label they have paid for and you will use your own shipping method you are more likely to make a sale. The buyer will just have to wait for the refund, obviously making it cheaper to buy from you.

Just add a little bit on the initial item price to cover your chosen postage.

This maybe against eBay policy, but it's the only way around it (circumvent) which eBay do not like, so tread carefully sellers. Bless all the little private sellers.

If the seller had Buyer pays for Postage on their listing,  then it's the buyer who receives the refund for the unused SD label,  albeit waiting 30 days.

The seller does not pay twice.

If the seller paid for the SD label, that is citing ' Seller pays', the old  ' Free Postage '  option,   they need to manually cancel it within 14 days,  and they will be refunded for the unused SD label.

That's what I said, the BUYER gets the refund making them more likely to buy from the seller using this method. They may have to wait a month for the refund, but refunded they will be.

No, you do not have to use an eBay prepaid label, as you can choose to buy and print your own label elsewhere. However, if the item is listed with "Simple Delivery," eBay provides a prepaid label and you will need to purchase your own and upload the tracking if you don't use the eBay label. Using the eBay label ensures tracking and payment are handled automatically, but using your own label is also an option.

Using your own label

When to use: You can use your own label at any time, but you must upload the tracking information to the order.

To opt out of "Simple Delivery": You can choose to opt out and use your own shipping method by selecting "Switch to advanced options" when creating or revising your listing.

Refunds: If you don't use the eBay label, you may be refunded. If the buyer paid for postage, they will get a refund. If you offered free postage, you will get the refund.

Using the eBay prepaid label

How it works: eBay provides a prepaid label or QR code, which you can print or use to have the carrier print it for you.

Benefits: It includes automatic tracking and protection against loss or damage.

Cost: If you offer free postage, the cost of the label will be deducted from your account. If the buyer pays for postage, they are charged for the label at check
