Simple delivery....simple question ?
Why are we forced to use only EVRI now, I always used Yodel before and that option has disapeared along with Packlink....
Why so they keep chaning these things ??
Is the bottom line the money ??

You can disable evri in your postage settings
and yes it’s the bottom line as it is for many companies only many companies are successful but don’t act lia a boa constrictor snake on its custoers
i think eBay takes gold for that one on many fronts not just postage

You can turn off Evri here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/ship/prf/simpledelivery
There may be exceptions when you have to use it

I can’t think of a single one

Evri take larger parcels than RM, on Simple Delivery

yes evri do
but ebay knows nothing apart from what you put in your sizing when it generates a label
so how exactly can eBay decide to change courier

I believe/agree that the exceptions are more likely to apply to sellers selecting Evri only.
And I don't think I've seen any mention of a seller receiving an Evri label when they've turned Evri off.
But it is possible that ebay's AI -
-could scan the text for dimensions and come to a decision*
-get dimensions from the EAN.
-flag categories such as walking sticks, hockey sticks, snooker cues etc.
(*) it wouldn't necessarily always be the correct decision - there was a thread on here about someone being forced (apparently) to use an age verified shipping service for some (Japanese) teacups ...

So are you saying if I switch off EVRI it will allow me to choose my own courier. ??

(I realise you are not responding to me.)
No. If you turn off Evri then you will send using RM. Those are the only two options currently.
Also note turning off a carrier will increase the postage prices in most cases.
See the link in message #3.

At present you can only use Evri or Royal Mail but e-Bay say they will be adding more "Partners" in the future. I agree it's a poor system at present as Sellers should be able to use couriers who have drop-off points near them.
Personally I'm OK as the only ones in walking distance of my home are a Post Office, who take both RM and Evri parcels, and a news-agent who does Evri. If e-Bay had made Collect+ or Yodel mandatory I'd not be selling as the 'bus fare to one of there drop-off points would have made it completely uneconomical.
The bottom line will be money. e-Bay will be getting a commission for selling Evri and Royal Mail services in the same way Parcel2Go, Parcel Monkey et al do.

Again and again EVRI FAILS to deliver the item !!!! eBay are effectively FORCING sellers to use Evri and it's destroying the trust that we used to have in eBay. When companies stop listening to customer feedback, they are going into decline !!

Had a very distraught customer message me today asking me not to use EVRI because in his area EVRI deliveries are taking 2 weeks to deliver. Some of his deliveries are medical. How can eBay continue with such a duff company? I have had several issues with EVRI as a buyer in the past and against my better judgement and the 'increased sales' rhetoric eBay insists on putting out about them, as a seller I choose them again. I now see that as a MISTAKE. I thought they had improved. Foolish thought. Unfortunately sprucing up the app logo could not really hide the incompetence that still exists it seems. After reading and viewing video footage of an alarming post on the NextDoor app where a EVRI delivery driver was blatantly seen stealing a package I, like the customer, am very concerned. So you might say I'm jumping the gun a bit as the actual package was dropped off at a locker before I got the customers message asking me to seek another courier, but when things like this happen, old wounds are opened and the feeling of dread reemerges. I will continue to monitor the situation but for now I have deactivated the EVRI option on my account under 'postage preferences'. I am reminded of customer power when ZAVVI had there stint with EVRI. It was a DISASTER. Packages were damaged, lost and stolen repeatedly. I was literally on message chat with them EVRY DAY (I ordered a lot) complaining and asking for EVRI to be removed as a courier. Eventually it worked much to the relief of ZAVVI customer service.
