What madness has resulted in no weight bands between 2kg and 15kg? I have a pair of average vintage plates for sale. Nice enough but nothing special and not likely to get more than £3 for the pair. Unfortunately they weigh 900g each and are 28cm diameter. They therefore, with box weight, fall into Royal Mail’s medium parcel 2-5kg band and would cost £6.35 to post. Simple Delibery however puts them in the 2-15kg category with a price starting at £10.55. I doubt there is a buyer out there stupid enough to pay that. EBay’s is just behaving like a highwayman in my opinion. I can’t even recoup the cost of packing but they can make over £4 profit if someone is silly enough to buy these two plates. I’m leaving them up until SD become compulsory then I’m charity shopping them tbh.
